Round 7 of the SLR McKeon championship is at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Canada. Another street track for these guys to contend with, very harsh on the track limit fronts and can make or break races and those who can avoid them can gain a lot from just avoiding cutting the track, but a short lap with the chance of rain, this track always brings action, so let’s see how these drivers are able to cope with this one.
The quali was a dry one, but many found it easy to lose times because of the track limits many found their rhythm quickly, and at the end after 18 minutes of action it would be SLR Corey to take another pole position this season! Continuously impressing week in and week out, such a strength of his, and with overtaking seeming difficult here, he must feel confident that he will be able to convert this to another race win. Second place was BRT Finn. He missed the last round, but he was certainly back to his best with a lap closest to Corey’s, a good lap from the McLaren driver but can he get another podium to add to his multitude of podiums so far? We’ll see but he’s in the 2nd best spot to do so. Rounding off the top 3 was Snypz SB, A good lap from the leader of the championship at the moment certainly will help his case to stay there, his strength is in the race though usually so let’s see how he will get on and see how the Drivers championship swings.
The race was also a dry one but with many trains forming it sure didn’t make the race lackluster, many getting impatient trying to find ways by, but after all 29 laps, it would be SLR Ham19 to take the race win here in Canada! Always in the right place at the right time to take wins if others slip, A great drive from him coming from P7 showing unreal pace all race, especially the last lap overtake to take the win into the final chicane was beautiful to watch. With Corey and Snypz in the lower ends of the points this does make him the new leader of the Driver’s championship, makes the gap at the top so close and this, I’m sure, will continue all the way until we get to Abu Dhabi. Second place in the end was NRX Finn. A good drive from the McLaren driver, competing with Ham most of the way once Ham got his way up to the top, only just losing the win on the last lap, still a lot of positives for Finn, and certainly gives him some good points to see if he can get himself in the title conversations. Rounding off the top three was SLR Jam40 who after qualifying P8, I’m sure he wasn’t sure this was possible but the pace he showed was exemplary, and with him being able to make the overtakes when it was needed, kept himself penalty free which gave him this fantastic result.
A race full of intrigue all boiled up to how had the most penalties, in the end, caused some great racing in the end, and it was certainly a good race to watch from a spectator standpoint. The next time out will be in Austria. A very different track, open, fast, and flowing. A track that has its charms and is certainly no easier for warnings and with it being so hard to get out of the DRS of the car behind, trains will be likely there, but fantastic races have happened there and sure there will be another one next week, but until then, hope everyone has a great week!

Incident 1
Snypz vs. Raceroller - Lap 14 - Causing Minor Damage
Outcome: 5s Time Penalty + 1LP to Raceroller
Reason: Raceroller does tap the brakes earlier than needed then accelerates off again and gives Snypz wing damage
Incident 2
Snypz vs. Finn - Lap 1 - Collision Resulting In Damage
Outcome: NFA
Reason: We see this as an unlucky lap 1 turn 1 incident
Incident 3
Raceroller vs. Snypz - Lap 15 - Excessive Squeezing
Outcome: NFA
Reason: We see nothing wrong with what Snypz did here
Incident 4
Zydrad vs. Corey - Lap 27 - Causing A Collision
Outcome: NFA
Reason: Corey makes the move at the hairpin and is ahead. Zydrad tries to come back at him keeping it pinned until the last moment. There’s no obvious wheel turning by either driver, and with Corey already ahead and not actually making the overtake as it was already done, is entitled to hold his line.
Incident 5
Zydrad vs. Roller - Lap 32 - Causing A Collision
Outcome: 5s Time Penalty and 1LP to Zydrad
Reason: Raceroller is ahead going into the Braking Zone and Zydrad sends it on Raceroller with no room for 2 cars going through the corner goes into the side of Raceroller and pushes him into the wall giving him wing damage
Incident 6
Corey - Lap 13 - Unsafe Safety Car Procedure
Outcome: NFA
Reason: Reviewing the evidence provided Corey does nothing wrong on the restart.
Division 2
O Canada. And Canada would be the place where we would establish a new championship leader in UKBeastAssassin following the promotion of dRaSt1k bLazE to the McKeon tier. That decision alone means any driver can still have a chance at taking home the Division 2 title. But first, we head to qualifying.
Qualifying
Come the end of the session, it was SLR Liamm who would take the spoils setting a 1:10.011. The ever-consistent pairing that make up the HAAS team would fill out the first 2 rows on the right hand side with Beast leading Owen, and placing the Mercedes of Scar B0rga in between them. Rounding out the top 5 would be VapidCoot who would hope to carry on the momentum from his podium finish from last week.
The Race
Some interesting strategic choices were presented coming into the formation lap with all 3 tyre compounds being used. The HAAS duo would opt for the soft tyre, hoping to get away from the pack and build up a gap, the rest of the top 5 opting for the medium tyre and then everyone else in the top 10 choosing the hard tyre. A mixture of the medium and hard would fill the rest of the grid.
As the 5 lights went out, we went underway and the drivers who went forward would be those soft tyre runners picking off their respective driver in front of them. Scar would lose another position to Vapid as the Alpine went ahead into turn 3. Big gainers from lap one included the HAAS’s, Active JMC making up 2 places, Ski Fee making up a couple and TIR Haze.
But a big gainer would become a big loser as Owen found the wall on the exit of turn 7, not only costing him his front wing, but a shedload of positions in the process! So because of that incident, Beast would take the lead, Vapid 2nd and Liamm.
JMC would continue his charge from 9th, clearing off a car a lap pretty much as he stormed to 4th early on and would continue Liam’s nightmare start which would only get worse when a certain Corey would start sleeping on the mic.
Lap 4 would also claim Adrian, bringing out the first safety car of the race. Beast from the softs pitted to go from the front to the back and to join his teammate at the back. Vapid would take the lead under the safety car, giving us a 4th leader in 5 laps.
Lap 6 onto 7 would bring the end of the safety car and the front 3 (Vapid, Scar and JMC) would all catch Southerner napping and would help themselves to a gap longer than what would be allowed for DRS.
Beast’s progression through the field brought him to within about 6-7 seconds of the lap after only 4 racing laps following the safety car!
The 5th leader of the race would come as Scar would getahead of Vapid going into lap 11.
Vapid would pit frost from the on-track leading group on lap 15, trying to undercut Scar and give himself enough of a gap to anyone else around that would come bearing down when it came to the end.
Now we get into the most critical moments, lap 19 through to lap 23. 19 would bring us a virtual safety car, an opportune time for those yet to pit… to well, pit. However, Codies had a different plan and just before anyone in the top pack could pit - bar Southerner albeit for a wing change - we would go racing again.
Lap 20 would see Beast make his second stop onto another set of mediums.
Lap 21 saw the commentator’s curse he put on the lead car - Scar, stating the fact he hadn’t got a penalty yet (Bloody Moley…).
And 22 is when that curse would be true as Scar speeds into the pit lane, giving him a 5 second penalty before then also picking up a penalty for track limits. Just like that, the Merc had thrown it all away the prat. And in the meanwhile JMC in typical JMC style hit the wall giving himself wing damage.
And to then rub it in, a VSC comes out on lap 23 🙃.
So with 10 laps to go, the top 5 would be Vapid, Beast, Southerner, Scar and THATGUY.
Despite his tyre advantage, Scar would really take his time making moves, seeing the 3 other cars in front form a drs train and waiting until lap 28 until he does something.
In the end though, the smart game payed off for Beast more importantly as he would take the chequered flag, an all-star smash and grab performance from the HAAS. Scar would take home P2 after pulling away from those with penalties. And to save the discord, the division chat and everyone’s soul, Southerner would take 3rd away from JMC. If you wondered how many didn’t have penalties that finished? Just one, Haze.
So after all that action, Beast would take a massive extension in his championship charge, but what will the gap become at roughly 9:15 on a hot Friday? Tune in next Friday at 8pm to find out.

Clock Vs Kislesko Vs Owen - 10s and 2LP to Clock for causing a major collision. Clocks move is late and causes a major collision with Kislesko going round and Owen being unable to avoid contact also.
Haze Vs Beast Vs Kirito - 10s and 2LP to Haze for causing a collision. Whilst the initial move isn't great at all, Beast doesn't sustain any damage or any major time loss from this and the resulting collision with Kirito is unfortunate. The minor wing damage that Kirito sustains warrants a 5s time penalty for Haze and the divebomb constitutes the other 5s.
Kirito Vs Qwerty - 5s and 1LP to Qwerty for spinning another car. Qwerty outbrakes himself and hits the back of Kirito, spinning him out and losing him time.

EchoAA23 vs. lofty012 Quali incident - Qualifying
Outcome: Qualifying Ban +2LP to EchoAA23
Here we think that even though both drivers could be on an outlap, Lofty looks like he is on a timed lap, and for some reason, Echo decides to stay around the outside for no reason and initiates the contact not only damaging his car but ruining Lofty’s lap so for this one, we think Echo is at fault here.
BadOtterTV vs. EchoAA23 Spinning another driver - Lap 27
Outcome: 5 seconds +2LP to Echo
Here we think that Echo goes for an overtake at a point of the track where it’s almost impossible to go side by side and isn't sufficiently alongside and just keeps his nose in causing the contact.
SLR Vettel vs. Mellow. Unsafe Rejoin - Lap 9
Outcome: 10 seconds +2LP to Mellow
Here we think that even though he does go off and has to rejoin here, he loses control of the car and just careers into Vettel and should have been more mindful of the other drivers due to the damage caused to Vettel a harsher penalty is warranted.
SLR Vettel vs. Scott85Laney Causing a collision - Lap 19
Outcome: NFA
Here, Vettel breaks too late trying to make the move stick but is equally alongside and just hurts him as much as it messes up Laney.
