McKeon
Round 8 of the SLR McKeon championship is in the Styrian hills, Austria. One of the shortest tracks we head to in the calendar, and is very easy to pass on but also a track where the DRS Trains are almost a guarantee with not many corners to get out of the DRS making this one of the most tactical races the drivers have to face.
Qualifying was a dry one, and many did 2 laps because the tyre wear was not that big here, but after 18 minutes of action, it was ELiTE x RisKz to take pole position! Another pole position for the Aston Martin driver, very impressive that whenever he races he is always up there, and with him having a big gap to 2nd he must fancy his chances of taking the win in the race. Second place in the end was SimbarocksONE. Simba has really found a change of form for qualifying with 2 P2’s to his name now in the span of two races, he really is showing some improvement and with his race pace definitely the superior skill for him, this gives him a good opportunity for him to fight for the win here. Rounding off the top 3 was BMidzy. Another driver who is very consistently up there and with him being so close to Simba he must be a tiny bit gutted not to get the spot but it does put him in a great spot to take the slipstream and gain the lead into Turn 3, but a good qualifying from the McLaren driver who has lacked a bit of pace as of late.
The race for once wasn’t a dry ordeal with rain forecasted and arriving with around 15 laps left which made for a new challenge for all drivers adjusting their driving from the dry to wet making it a bigger test than it already was, but after all 29 laps, it would be Snypz SB to take the race win! After a poor race last time out for his standards, I’m sure he is pleased to get the race win here and reinvigorate his charge to the title this season, and with this result, he gives himself a big gain on his competitors. Second place in the end was ELiTE x RisKz. Only just lost out on the win this round, not enough pace when the rain struck, undoing his hard work to get pole position but is still a strong result for him and fires him up the standings in the championship for Constructor and him personally. Rounding off the top 3 was BMidzy. Another strong race for the McLaren driver, one I’m sure will be welcome with his form being up and down but definitely is a driver that could challenge should he be able to keep this up.
A fascinating race throughout with the difficulty of coping with the weather making for some strategy changes that would affect some drivers for the worse or for better, but certainly was a great fight to watch throughout. Next week we will be at the home of SLR, Silverstone, Britain. The first F1 race ever, a track with so much history and one that is always exciting for drivers and spectators alike, a close race is always expected and with the chance of the weather playing it’s part, there are many spanners in the work that could make or break your race, But until then I hope everyone has a great week!

Division 2
Österreich, the shortest lap time on the calendar but would it produce some close racing? Let’s hope so.
Qualifying
Scar B0rga in the Mercedes managed to find 2 tenths that would take him to the top of the timing sheets to take his first pole of the season! Behind him was SLR Southerner, trying to keep his good run of form alive, before OwenHowell rounded out the top 3. The top 5 ended with Ski Fee in the AlphaTauri, and F1ABQW3RTYYY in the Williams.
The Race
In a surprising twist, all 3 tyre compounds lined up on the grid, with everyone but the pole man Scar on the medium and hard. He’d decided to go onto the soft tyre to try and pull away from the pack.
And as the 5 lights went out, initially the plan had paid off as a 2 second gap to P2 emerged after the opening lap, but there was a nightmare start for SLR Mash and Kislesko, coming together at turn 3.
But as soon as drs was activated, this was when the Merc’s nightmare would begin. The pack, a train from P2 to 8, was begging to swarm in and on lap 6, was when they would come into a fight for the lead. And Lap 7 was when the lead was taken, Southerner getting a move done into turn 4 but Scar wouldn’t give up without a fight, giving a brilliant fight through the middle sector.
Owen and Kirito in the meantime would have a fair old whack of each other, both losing a wing in the process and disrupting and halting any progress they had made in the race.
And then Lap 9 was when it came mostly apart. A terrible exit out of turn 3 from the lead, falling to 3rd and then being spun by QWERTY who had misplaced his braking point, summed up the opening - and season - for Scar.
Lap 16 would bring out the first VSC of the race, Legend finding the wall and bringing out too much debris for the game to handle. But at then end, Southerner would pick up a drive through for speeding, being caught out by the shocking deltas that this game produces.
Lap 28 would be the next major action point, Legend crashing out, forcing a safety car and giving everyone the chance to slap on a set of softs tyres and have a sprint to the end.
Lap 30 would be the end of the safety car period, a 6 lap finale. Most of the field would hold positions entering 32, and 33, and pretty much 34 bar Kirito and Southerner. 35 however saw a fair amount of changes, Southerner, Liam and Scar all battling for position,
But on the final lap, Haze would get Ski Fee and only a late defense from JMC who would claim a surprise victory from 7th on the grid. Haze would come home to take second from 16th on the grid, and Ski Fee would round out the podium.
With that all wrapped up, and multiple head losses in the discord server, we prepare to head to the home of motor racing, Silverstone.

SLR Vettel Vs l 21 l Maxwell Causing a collision - Lap 1
Outcome: NFA
Here we think that all cars heading into Turn 3 all fighting for position, and as Maxwell has to move to the right in order not to hit the car ahead and has to move across unfortunately hitting Vettel who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Baggiefan 1995 vs SLR Vettel Spinning another driver - Lap 7
Outcome: NFA
In this incident, Baggie tries to take advantage of the situation and get past the Red Bull of Vettel, as he’s got the run, however, he slows down too much and keeps the wheel straight at the start of the turn. We feel that in this case if Baggie was a bit more brave on the brakes and got ahead of the car, he would’ve made the pass on the inside covering off Vettel. We cannot blame Vettel in this scenario for the spin of Baggie, because although he could’ve taken a slightly wider line, it is not straightforwardly his fault, and about the second touch which resulted in the actual spin, he could do nothing about. Both parties could’ve done slightly better, therefore we deem it as NFA.
