This weeks race at the Circuit de Spa Francorchamps provided yet another twist in the Elite championship fight.
In qualifying Midzy15 took pole with an outstanding lap in overcast conditions while others struggled or opted for wet setups.
Championship contenders JamHam and Freeman started down in 9th and 6th respectively while the top two in the championship, HamJam and Zydrad were 2nd and 4th, Snypz out in an impressive lap to put his McLaren third on the grid, a position that the papaya outfit haven’t been accustom to this season.
With the race beginning with grey sky’s overhead it was highly anticipated that the heaven’s would open and the downpour would arrive and duly it did after on 2 laps rain had began to dampen the track and some drivers struggled with the conditions.
Midzy lost control of his Alfa Romeo out of the infamously named ‘no name’ corner which gave HamJam the opportunity he needed to take the lead while further down the field there was a Civil War occurring between Racing Point drivers BDunk and Darnell resulting in the latter being sent into a spin and the former receiving a 15 second penalty.
After that the action died down somewhat and in fact the order of most of the top was established, Snypz opted for an over cut when the majority of the field pitted for intermediate tyres but unfortunately I did not pay off, this resulted in the championship top two of Zydrad and Ham taking up the top two positions in the race and what ensued was an intense 20 lap battle of will and concentration with Ham having to fend off the Haas driver which was no easy task. A fitting tribute by Ham on a weekend where SLR paid tribute to the late Antoine Hubert, winning at the Spa circuit where he sadly lost his life in 2019 wearing a special Hubert-inspired helmet and donning not only Hubert’s but his number 19 on the nose of the Renault car. #AH19
JamHam settled into 3rd and while he was unable to influence the top two kept Ghost Colt at bay and kept himself in the championship fight with yet another podium.
Ghost Colt continues his good run of form with P4 while the newly named FRA Freeman battled back from two long pit stops to come home in 5th.
Bezzas came home in 6th and showed that his quali pace can be transferable into races as at times this season it has not while Snypz recovered to 7th.
RyanJones came home 8th followed by the second Red Bull of Merkz and Raceroller22 rounded out the points in P10.
So the championship moves on now to Monza and the temple of speed with the championship still very much wide open with Zydrad, Ham, Jam and even Freeman still in with a realistic chance while nearly all drivers mathematically are still in contention.
I’d like to thank all drivers on behalf of the admins for their continued attendance as well as the lack of incidents within races making it both clean and competitive and a great spectacle for all.

In division 1 we saw an impressive q3 time from SLR Kolka which saw her take the pole position clear of nearly 3. Tenths to 2nd place. We had a very incident filled Saturday afternoon in Division Two, which saw a plethora of safety cars and DNF’s; in fact we only had 10 finishers, so all the survivors of Spa-Francorchamps ended up with at least a point this week!
bennett628 started on pole position with an outstanding lap, over 4 tenths from the nearest driver! He continued his good form to take the win after he had a 5 second penalty removed after it was wrongly awarded by the game.
We had a late safety car yet again too, and the ones with little to no penalties were the ones who came out strong in the final standings.
ChickeN FikR took the win on the chequered flag but after bennett628’s penalty took it away from him, he still took his best result of the season so far! PlainTeddy24 came home to get the final spot on the podium, and a massive shoutout to SLR Owenn who finished P9 on track in his first race as Head Admin but after only getting one penalty he shot up to P4, which is his highest ever finish in SLR!
I can see that this is dragging on, so lastly I shall give a big shoutout to everyone who finished a very much “Last Man Standing” style race, and I hope everyone has a good race in Monza next week!

Division 3 in Belgium this week and yet another action filled race from the get-go. There were incidents from the lights as x J GEDDES x (Alfa Romeo) and SLR St2oh (Ferrari) both jump started before the field got away. Into La Source and it was the two Racing Points of SLR Hyperz and SLR Dodgy that tangled on the exit causing damage to both. As lap 1 unfolded it was DaredPaul1986 (Mercedes) that took a spin at Pouhon while the Racing Points were all over the circuit due to their lack of downforce. At the end of lap 1 we seen 7 cars pitting after a whirlwind first lap. By lap 3 it was SLR Gareth (Red Bull) who had taken the early lead of the race with Craigfk (Alpha Tauri) in 2nd and SLR B33n (RedBull) in 3rd as Aflyinglemon (Ferrari) took a spin at Campus and dropped to 13th place. As we hit lap 4 the top three were starting to pull out gaps of a second on each other as Crafti3stJ3st3r (Williams) in 4th and SLR Stevooo (Mclaren) in 5th were making chase while we saw SLR Colden (Haas) spin at Les Combes after going toe to toe with GrumpyOrange976 (Alfa Romeo) and ending up backwards losing 5 places from 10th to 15th.
It was lap 5 before we seen the first casualty at Eau Rouge as SLR Stevooo in 5th went spinning at the top of the hill getting terminal damage to end his race and become the first DNF of the race. On lap 6 it was 2nd placed Craigfk who took a spin out of the exit of Pouhon into the wall but survived with minor damage but dropped to 4th until pitting and moving down to 13th as Crafti3stJ3st3r took 3rd. On lap 7 with SLR Gareth pitting it was SLR B33n who took the advantage and we saw UK l DeMoNz (Mercedes) make a move on the Kemmel straight to take 3rd place off Nedklaw (Mclaren). On lap 8 as most of the runners were making pitstops SLR Gareth who had climbed back up to 4th lost traction at La Source hitting the wall and damaging his front wing while dropping to 8th. Lap 10 brought the first full safety car as Nedklaw crashed at Les Combes while in 9th place which promoted SLR Hyperz back into the top 10 for the first time since lap 1 before pitting again pushing SLR Colden into the top 10.
At the restart on lap 13 it was Crafti3stJ3st3r who lead the race from SLR b33n in 2nd and Scot85laney (Renault) in 3rd. Despite battling hard with SLR B33n, Crafti3stJ3ster eventually lost 1st place on lap 15 as SLR b33n made the move stick up the Kemmel straight into Les Combes on the softer tyre compound. SLR Hyperz then had a terminal crash after Pouhon on lap 15 which didn’t bring out a safety car only for SLR St2oh to be the 2nd victim of Eau Rouge seconds later which then prompted the second safety car of the race. Current championship leader SLR Dodgy who was down in 12th then seen an effective end to his race after picking up a penalty for speeding on the safety car on lap 16. As the second safety car came in it was race back on for the final 4 laps as SLR B33n lead the race with Crafti3stJ3ster in 2nd and Scott85laney in 3rd. As the race ended it was SLR B33n who took the chequered flag, Crafti3stJ3st3r in 2nd and Scott85laney in 3rd as Craigfk dropped to 4th with penalties.

Note to all drivers when appealing the 5 second time penalty caused by another driver under safety car conditions you must send the stewards the clip of the incident AND a screenshot of your race director. A screenshot of the finishing results is not enough as this does not prove that you haven't served the penalty in the pits.
