SLR returns and our Formula 2 Division is our SLR season opener! A new game, new rules, new drivers…..and new problems (lol). We kick off the season at Bahrain with our first of four triple race rounds of the season. Lets get straight to it!
One Shot Quali! SLR Corey who is one of the favourites for the title this season claims the first F2 pole of the season. Para Quickz would be second a further three tenths back with SLR Darnell and UKBeastAssassin sharing the second row. Reigning champion Crispy2001 would start last after invalidating his Quali lap. MasonGammon was eighth as your best Evo driver in which has undergone a revamp.
Sprint Race One! SLR Southerner was your reverse grid pole sitter with Division along side him. MasonGammon and season three champion SLR Ham were behind in row two. Season six is underway! Already in turn one we saw chaos as SLR Mash would completely miss his braking to plow into a few drivers narrowly missing race leader out of turn one SLR Southerner. First few laps there were plenty of spins, contact and crashes as the drivers get used to the new game and new challenges. After the first few laps your top three were Southerner, SLR Ham and UKBeastAssassin. SLR Corey just behind in fourth was your fastest driver on track. All race these were your front four but the order would change in the last couple of laps. Southerners valiant defence would come to end from the clutches of UKBeast who made a place on SLR Ham a few laps earlier. UKBeast would take the first win of the new Formula 2 season! SLR Corey takes second with Southerner falling another place for third but still on the podium narrowly beating SLR Ham. Crispy made a great fifteen place recovery to fifth just pipping SLR Jam, SLR Darnell and MasonGammon who was your Evo sprint race winner.
Sprint Race Two! SLR Bennett is your reverse grid pole sitter for the second sprint alongside SLR Griffiths on the front row. Behind starting on row two were MasonGammon and SLR Darnell. Griffiths would immediately take the lead into turn one. Spins early on from UKBeast and SLR Dodgy would damage their points potential and our biggest mover was SLR Jam up three places into second. The top two would pull away as SLR Bennett proved to be a road block for everyone behind which created great content on the season opener despite the horrendous desync. Bennett would prove to be a pain to pass which lead to seven drivers fighting for one position. The Carlin driver would begin to fall and eventually spin a few laps later. Your top three at the halfway stage was Griffiths, Jam and Crispy. It got from bad to worse for Bennett as a crash from himself would bring out the safety car. With two laps of racing to go the safety car came in and we were back away. No major changes through the grid for the last two laps so your race winner was SLR Griffiths for the second time in his SLR F2 career just pipping Crispy followed by provisionally SLR Darnell. SLR Jam would just miss out on a podium in fourth with Merkz making up great ground to finish fifth. SLR Ham, SLR Corey and Evo Sprint two winner MasonGammon who take the remaining points scoring positions.
The Feature! Right from the off SLR Corey displayed immense pace to stretch a lead of five seconds after just three laps. The grid was becoming split throughout the pack with another race seemingly happening in the battle for eighth with two time Evo champ SLR Dodgy leading it. Another SLR Bennett retirement would bring out the second safety car of the round which saw everyone but OwenHowell pit onto their mandatory tyres for the race. Lap nine we resume and Corey would retake the lead passing the yet to pit OwenHowell. Once passed Owen would spin moments later. The fight for third were spicy in the remaining laps with all UKBeast, Para and Ham fighting for position. But our first feature race of the season was won by SLR Corey! Griffiths takes second with Para provisionally taking third. UKBeast missing out on the podium in fourth just pipping Crispy who made another great recovery drive and SLR Ham. SLR Dodgy scores his first points in seventh just beating MasonGammon who made it three out of three official points finishes and Evo wins this round. SLR Darnell and SLR Jam took the remaining points.
We only have to wait one week before we go again as we head to Saudi Arabia where last season proved to be a brilliant track with great battles and plenty of surprises. Same again?

Really unfortunate to get caught up in another car that has lost control and spinning into the path SLR Dodgy is trying to avoid him to.

Verdict: 5 second 1 LP to SLRCHARLIE1
SLRCHARLIE1 rejoins the track unsafely. Even with ghosting on please remember to wait until a safe time to rejoin the track.
SLR Dodgy v Crispy2001 Sprint 1 - Lap 2
Verdict: NFA
Crispy is attempting a move on the car in front of him Division defending hard which then causes a loss of momentum for both drivers. Therefore SLR Dodgy is carrying a lot more speed and unfortunately gets caught up.

UKBeastAssassin v SLR Darnell Sprint 2 - Lap 1
Verdict: Racing Incident
Gets very congested going to T5 UKBeastAssassin gets in front of SLR Darnell but isn’t fully ahead when moving towards the optimal line for the next corner. Darnell can not back out with cars around him so this unfortunately causes rear left to front right wheels to collide.

Catches the rear of UKBeastAssassin car ahead causing him to lose control.
SLR Dodgy v PaRa Quickz Sprint 2 - Lap 1
Verdict: 5 second 1 LP to PaRa Quickz
Collects the driver in front into a braking zone then on exit causes SLR Dodgy to spin.
SLR Dodgy v Ads040 Sprint 2 - Lap 6
Verdict: 15 seconds 3 LP to Ads040 (Qualifying Ban)
Ads unsafely rejoins the track at speed and then collides into another car.

Verdict: 10 second 2 LP to PaRa Quickz
PaRa Quickz out brakes himself and causes SLR Darnell to spin and lose multiple positions. OwenHowell36 v PaRa Quickz v Merkz47 Sprint 1 - Lap 6 Verdict: NFA Warning to PaRa Quickz out braking himself into T1 causing a bit of a knock on effect in T2.
