SLR Jam would take pole position and 4 crucial points for his and Campos championship challenge, with 2nd place man in the championship SLR Darnell alongside, championship leader SLR Corey would be starting at the back for this round due to having a Qualifying ban.
The sprint race would kick off with Para Quickz on reverse grid pole. It would be a tough first lap for Semm and Southerner as they would get caught up in a incident over the Anderson bridge, that would see them drop to the back of the field. The top 3 of Para, Ham and Jam would quickly show their pace by pulling away from the pack behind and making a 3 way battle for the race win. A already tough race for SLR Marsh would turn into disaster after crashing out on lap 7 and bringing out the saftey car which closed up the pack and would give us a action packed finale to this sprint race. Ukbeastassassin gambled behind the saftey car boxing for the supersoft tyres with 2 laps to go would it pay off? Saftey car back in and the chaos begins. Para Quickz would absolutely nail the restart pulling a second on ham in a matter of corners showing his immense pace this race. Disaster would strike on the final lap! Contact between Jam and Darnell would see the Hitech of Darnell round and any hopes of closing the gap in the championship were gone in the sprint race. Para quickz would pick up the sprint race victory and a dominant one it was, Ham would come home P2 and Benster would round out the podium. Darnell would recover to 7th after his contact but crucially his championship rival SLR Corey would come 6th and with fastest lap.
We went boat racing in the Feature as the heavens opened up and what is a long and demanding race as it is, the rain would make it even worse for these F2 drivers. Jam would get away well but Darnell in P2 loses it to Benster on the opening lap showing some great pace. Merkz47 who has showed great pace in the wet this season continues that trend, gaining 5 positions up to P9 on the opening few laps, championship leader SLR Corey would be hot on his heels though getting his way up to P11 and attempting another charge through the field. A mistake from Darnell saw his brother Southerner swapping positions for the final podium place and the UNI Virtuosi driver was up into P3!!! Benster wasn’t ready to give up his battle for this win against Jam, sticking on the diffuser of him for the majority of the race waiting for the perfect time to overtake the S1 champion. Lap 12/17 and SLR Ham was fed up waiting behind Darnell and made his way through and up into 4th place now!! Benster would also slide his way past race leader Jam, can he hold him off for the remaining laps? Just like the sprint race, a late saftey car would spice up the ending of this race. 3 cars boxed for new wets UKBeastAssassin, SLR Darnell and SLR Corey. 2 racing laps is what we would end with and prepare for the chaos once more. Back to green flags and Jam would challenge for the lead into T1 but failed with his attempt. Darnell would have more contact!! What could have been a possible P4 has seen more championship points slip away. But after taking the lead off Jam midway through the race, Benster would win the feature race with a fantastic drive, handling the pressure well with Jam coming home for another P2!! Southerner picks another podium holding off Ham on the final lap.
Another huge round in the championship with SLR Corey somehow extending his championship lead on SLR Darnell. We head over to the circuit of the americas next week where we’re coming to the final 3 rounds of the season. Can Darnell close the gap at the top? Can Jam make a late charge? Or can SLR Corey keep extending his championship lead?
