Incident involving Sparks and Blaze - no further action.

Both drivers could have done more to avoid contact. Hard to tell if there would have been room for Blaze had he not lost the car slightly therefore neither driver can be deemed to be more at fault.

Division 2

The Saudi Arabia GP in SLR Division 2, Season 12, Round 2 at Jeddah, was set against a backdrop of heightened anticipation and unresolved drama. Massey F1, stepping in for SLR Marsh, added an element of unpredictability. The race followed a week of controversy from Bahrain, where a collision between SLR Liamm and Kirito (now SSR William) shifted the dynamics after an appeal. With SLR Liamm known for his previous pole position here and OwenHowell36 as the last season's winner, the stage was set. Adding to the intrigue was SLR Darnell, a driver with proven pace yet seeking his first SLR victory, all under the watchful eyes of the engaged and witty commentators.

Qualifying

Qualifying was charged with competition and precision. Kirito, now known as SSR William, set the early pace with a commendable lap, only to be quickly overtaken by SLR Darnell's exceptional timing. The lead shifted as drivers like UKBeastAssassin and Ski Fee pushed their limits, showcasing their ambitions for the season. F1ABQWERTY's struggles contrasted with the top performers, emphasizing the session's competitiveness. The commentators, SLR Corey and SLR Southerner, injected somehumour into the tense atmosphere, playfully discussing sheds and drill bits, while a spin from THATGUY (which guy? THATGUY!) added to the drama. In the end, UKBeastAssassin edged out SLR Darnell by a mere 11 thousandths to secure pole, setting the stage for an exciting race.

Race

The race was a whirlwind of action from start to finish. The drama began immediately with a Turn 1 crash involving Simon37M and GoldenEggFryer, prompting a Safety Car. The top spots saw UKBeastAssassin leading, with SLR Liamm and SLR Darnell in pursuit. Both Ferraris pitted early for new wings, drastically changing their race strategies. The race featured intense midfield tussles, notably between Coutinho and LSW Legend. Kislesko's impressive overtake and Ski Fee's spin added to the drama. Numerous Safety Car periods brought strategic depth, with Massey F1 making significant gains. SLR Darnell and SLR Liamm battled fiercely, while a late Safety Car, caused by TIR CODZILLA's crash, brought a final twist. This led to crucial pit stop decisions, reshaping the leaderboard.

In the final laps, tension soared with close battles, including a dramatic Ferrari collision as Kirito taps the rear of GEF’s car sending him into the wall on the penultimate lap from 3rd place! In a rare moment of shame and/or regret, Kirito reacts by retiring on track and leaving the league! But the race was not over yet as up front the leaders begin the final lap. Zach who had spent the previous lap protecting his teammate from fresh soft runners behind was now in ZachIsBeastMODE, as the defender turned attacker with an ambitious attempt at the final corner! Massey just about held on and clinched the victory in a thrilling 1-2 finish for Red Bull. This GP was a testament to the unpredictability and excitement of Division 2 racing here in SLR.

In the post-race interviews, SLR Liamm expressed a mix of satisfaction and disappointment. He lamented the Safety Car's impact on his race but acknowledged that finishing third was the best outcome under the circumstances. His focus was already on the upcoming Australian GP, where he aimed to excel in qualifying.

ZachIsBeast, on the other hand, shared his happiness and surprise at the race's outcome, particularly considering the late strategic calls. He felt confident going into Australia, buoyed by his performance.

Massey F1, the unexpected victor, reflected on his surprise at others pitting and his decision to stay out, which ultimately paid off. His victory as a reserve driver was a remarkable feat, and he humorously contemplated ways to race in Australia.

SLR Corey and SLR Southerner, the commentators, highlighted the race's entertainment value and the potential implications of Kirito's departure on the team dynamics.

Incident involving Fryer and Kirito - 3 licence points to Kirito.

Spins Fryer causing red wing damage. The DNF however isn’t entirely down to Kirito and could potentially have been avoided.

Incident involving Fryer and Coutinho- 5 second time penalty and 2 licence points to Coutinho for overtaking under the safety car and unsportsmanlike conduct.

Coutinho shouldn’t have overtaken Fryer under the safety car and subsequently he should have given the place back.

Incident involving Haze and Legend - 3 licence points to Legend for causing a collision.

Legend does cause the collision here albeit it’s unfortunate. There is no evidence we have received that shows that Haze’s rear wing damage has been caused by this incident and therefore this is the maximum penalty we can give

Incident involving Punisher and Vettel - no further action.

Punisher doesn’t get damage or spin etc and Vettel receives wing damage so no need to penalise anyone here.

Incident involving Hicklin and HuskySaturn - 5 second time penalty and 1 licence point to HuskySaturn for spinning another car
