Round 16 takes us to the Losail International Circuit, Qatar for this week's installment of the SLR McKeon Division. It is an unknown track to most in the division, a high-speed track with drivers using Full throttle for at least 54.2% percent of the lap, this is a fast track and with the only real overtaking opportunity going into Turn 1, all the drivers will need to pick their moments or else their races could be over in a matter of moments.
Qualifying now, and being one of the best quali tracks on the calendar it’s always fantastic watching these drivers navigate the 16 corners here, with most being medium to high-speed corners. But after all 18 minutes of action, it would be Snypz SB to take another Pole Position this season! Always in the right spot at the right time, showing why he still is the championship leader, he track he may not feel he is strong but you wouldn’t be able to tell based on the outcome of this session, fantastic from the Alfa Romeo driver and maybe now he could extend the gap at the top even further. Second in the end was SimbarocksONE. AN impressive vein of form for the Alpine driver at a track he may not have expected, definitely a great position to be starting at for the race, given the DRS Train this will favour him nicely, and let’s hope he can do well in the race again. Rounding off the top 3 was BMidzy. Another fantastic lap from the McLaren who only seems to keep getting better and better, never outside the top 10 in recent races really shows the level of improvement he has shown in the latter stages of the season.
The race was a movie in itself, with every driver working hard to keep in their position in the DRS Trains and with ERS gain being almost negative, it was so crucial for every driver to use their energy stores when it was absolutely needed and any unnecessary usage could cause them pain later on in the race. But after all 29 laps of racing it would be Snypz SB to take the Race Win! What more can I say about this driver, always so quick, almost always in the right position, but this time had the outright pace to go and win this thing. He wasn’t uncontested though with BMidzy fighting him for the last few laps through the field but it wasn’t enough to stop the Championship Leader who wins another Race this season and looks to see when in the next races he can wrap up the title. Second place, in the end, was BMidzy. A strong race for Midzy here, deciding to pit later than others and having fresher tyres for the end of the race really helped his case, as it let him have enough tyres to try and fight to get the win but being just outside the DRS he just didn’t have enough tyre left to get close enough, still a fantastic race nonetheless. Third place in the end was SimbrocksONE. Another podium for the Alpine driver, using the undercut to his advantage and gaining decent ground in the end, he may have struggled near the end as the tyres faded away but he kept onto the podium and got some more crucial points for his own place in the standings as he looks to push on even more and keep this up.
A race full of strategy with many struggling being so close with some getting damage from following cars so close, but an exciting race nonetheless, giving us a deserved winner. Next time up will be the Circuit of the Americas, USA. A track with so much character, a fast and twisty Sector 1 onto a long back straight into a tight and technical Sector 3, it’s always a track we look forward to racing at so hopefully we can get some good action then, until then though I hope everyone has a great week!

GoldenEggFryer runs into the back of Kislesko going into Turn 10, we understand that Kislesko does brake earlier than anticipated which is why the penalty is not as severe but we believe GoldenEggFryer could have done more to avoid the contact.
LSW L3G3ND44 vs SotierClock110 vs PxrpHaze 44 - 15s and 3LP to LSW L3G3ND44 for causing a collision resulting in a DNF for another car
Legend makes a half hearted move into the final corner and keeps his nose in which connects with the rear of Clock’s car, eventually drags Clock into the wall retiring his car. We believe Haze could have done more to avoid contact so no extra penalty for that part of the incident.
