Monaco Baby!

Mckeon

The mckeon division arrived in Monaco and news spread early on that we were to have a wet race! Q1 was also wet but once the session had passed it dried up for the rest of quali. Our eventual pole sitter was the defending champion raceroller22!he was joined by mr ogween on the front row, the second row was occupied by SLR Dacey who is making his first appearance of the season and SLR Corey in p4.

The 5 lights went out, roller got away well retaining his lead and instant drama! Para quickz was round which resulted in many drivers damaging their cars! This resulted in the virtual safety car being deployed. Fempest, bennett, zydrad, division, para and monkey all effected and all taking to the pits on lap 1.

Lap 7, our first retirement of the afternoon was SLR Fempest after retiring in the pits. Raceroller was leading dacey by 1.4 seconds followed by ogween Corey and midzy they had a 23 second gap to Griffiths in p6!

Lap 11 and in quick succession we had lost crowding, division and kevinGT all crashing out! We then lost semm and Griffiths not long after. Lap 23 and it was roller vs dacey for p1 covered by 7 tenths and further down the road it was ogween vs Corey covered by 5 tenths, the pair had pulled 4 seconds from championship leader Midzy.

As the race entered the later stages SLR Dacey, out of nowhere damaged his car! He was forced to pit dropping him to 6th! Roller now had a 12 second lead and would look to see the race out!

See the race out is exactly what roller did! He took the checkered flag to win the Monaco Grand Prix! Mr ogween finished p2 and midzy p3 after Corey crashed on the last lap! Heartbreaking for him as he lost out on a podium.

Join us next week for baku!

Incident Involving Merkz47 & JibJab325 - Lap 34 (collision/forcing another driver off track)

Outcome: 2 Licence points awarded to JibJab325 for forcing another driver off track

Reason: After the stewards reviewed the evidence submitted, they found JibJab at fault for forcing Merkz off the track at Piscine, and subsequently overtaking him.

Ordinarily this would be worth 5 seconds, but an extra licence point has been given in place of this time penalty due to the fact JibJab is the last classified car on the lead lap, and thus any time penalty given would’ve had zero potential effect on the outcome.

Incident involving Bmizdy & SLR Dacey - Qualifying (Blocking)

Outcome: 2 Licence points awarded to SLR Dacey for blocking a qualifying hot lap

Reason: Dacey clearly sits on the racing line on the way to Mirabeau and blocks Midzy’s qualifying lap.

Division 1

Streets of Monaco, streets of hell, streets of pain. Whatever the name you have for the Monaco Grand Prix. Division 1 would be the final division to tackle this iconic and challenging circuit.

With the championship battle heating up some major news before any laps was even set as just like SLR Cech last week the championship leader wouldn't be racing. Jito DV not taking part would open the chance for Cech and Arb0n Jito's red bull companion to take top spot. Unfortunately for Arb0n he uses a controller but more on that later.

SLR cech after missing spain was looking to claw back the championship lead he lost in Catalunya and after sticking his Mclaren on pole position which is more crucial then ever around monaco and also maintained the lead into turn 1 after a good launch then looked in a world of his own to take the win and the championship lead back. I would love to say more about it but that was literally it.

As for the rest of the podium it was the former division 1 title protanganist LP smoke getting a needed p2 and a promoted DPT Alife getting his familiar Red Bull into p3 on track at least truly impressive drives from the pair of them.

As for another championship contender Arb0n EPA he had to retire in the pits early after multiple screen freezes and de-sync he made the decision to not run the risk of ruining someone's race and called it a day. Something I'm sure in reality he doesn't mind as his race wasn't going brilliantly anyway being unlikely to score points and failing to capitalise on Jito's absence let's see if he can bounce back next week as well as his team mate.

SLR cech then takes the championship lead in some style in this topsy-turvy battle. Can the Red Bulls fight back or will Cech use this race as a stepping stone for domination find out next week in Baku.

Division 2

We head to Monaco for Round 5 of the championship where during the week we’ve had some changes to the grid. Our championship leader DPT Paul alongside DPT Alfie have both been promoted into Division 1 for the remainder of the season.

DPT Paul will be replaced by Simon37M in the Alpine, Simon a driver who himself has been promoted into Division 2 after starting the season in Division 3. While DPT Alfie is replaced by the returning Darren I 22 in the Red Bull. As always Monaco always throws up some surprises so let’s see what it had in store this time round.

There was mixed weather conditions for qualifying. Q1 started dry but in the final few minutes it started to spit. This led to Q2 being a desperate dash out by everyone to set a lap time in the diminishing conditions.

Now this led to the Q2 eliminations being a surprising list after folks couldn’t set a lap time on their first run. SLR Liamm who topped the timing sheet for Q1 was knocked out in Q2 alongside VapidCoot74, BadOtterTV, LSW L3G3ND44 and SLR Morgan. All drivers you’d normally expect to make Q3 and be challenging for pole.

Q3 started and it was intermediate conditions, so time for us to see who could master Monaco in the rain. As we’ve seen previously in Division 2 Q3 can be a very tight affair and that was the case here again. I VR46 I took pole with a 1:21.015 only pipping Adrian VIII by 0.003 of a second! It simply cannot get much tighter than that.

Onto the race itself, 39 laps of the streets of Monaco oh what twists and turns awaited us. As the 5 lights went out it was a clean start for our pole sitter who retained first through the first corner. Unfortunately for Adrian he disconnected from the lobby between qualifying and the race. So his ghosted AI fell back on the opening lap, but this gifted Simon37M P2 in his first race!

Further down the field MasonGammon05 performed a brilliant overtake down the inside of Ellis37 just after casino square. The majority of the field managed to complete lap 1 without receiving any damage and no severe contact.

Over the first few laps it was clear to see that VR and Simon would be battling it out for the victory as they built a very commanding lead over the field. SLR ALE was trying to hold on but proved difficult.

Our first retirement of the race came on lap 4 when CSCMorris collided with the pit wall on the final corner. Of course this should have been a safety car. But with what seems to be safety car issues at Monaco we didn’t get a single one. Which did result in a very spread field.

Over the first half dozen laps or so OwenHowell36 and Ellis37 had a very rough and tumble battle for P5. This allowed the top 4 a chance to run away while bunching the field up tightly behind.

On lap 6 SLR Morgan performed a fantastic overtake down the inside at turn 7 on SLR Moley. Then on lap 7 he did the exact same move on OwenHowell36. This allowed him to clear the pack and have a large amount of clear air to run in. Owen pitted on lap 7 to repair some damage he must have picked up when battling with Ellis.

By lap 12 of 39 the soft runners had started to pit from the lead and the field was incredibly spread due to drivers pitting at random intervals due to damage.

Over the next 27 laps we lost the off driver here or there, ending the race with 12 drivers and not many on track battles.

It was I VR46 I who did indeed bring it home to take the race win. SotierClock110 claimed second place and Simon37M on debut took the final spot on the podium. Simon did cross the line second but due to penalties dropped behind Clock.

There was then a 39 second gap to 4th place man Ellis37 and even more as you keep going backwards.

Special mention to Adrian VIII who I am sure was looking forward to this race after taking second in Qualifying. But due to his disconnect. When he was able to get back in his car ran the entire race ghosted. Adrian himself asked to be taken out of the standings as he felt it was unfair on the other drivers that he could just drive through them. Adrian crossed the line in P5 but has been disqualified from the final classification. So thank you for being a fantastic sport! It is brilliant to see.

Join us next week as we head to yet another difficult street circuit in Baku.

Incident 1:

Adrian VIII game glitch - Adrian VIII is disqualified from the race.

We unfortunately have no choice but to disqualify Adrian due to the advantage he gained and from this glitch. We would however like to thank him for his honesty in submitting the clip and have advised the division 3 admins to make note of this act of sportsmanship. No licence points will be awarded for this incident.

Division 3

In division 3 this week a real challenge of the streets of Monaco awaited the drivers and also the threat of rain late on in qualifying meant most drivers headed out early to try and set a good clean lap.

Reserve driver SLR block looked to be setting some early pace on the supposed slower medium tyre setting the quickest time in Q1 and again in Q2 this time on the soft tyre.

In Q3 the rain started to come down so it was a race out the pit lane and a quick dash for pole before it became to wet. A mistake from block meant SLR EVVO took his first pole of the season. SLR Jack qualified alongside him on the front row. SLR block and SLR dosser were on the second row.

To the race then and SLR EVVO on pole had qualified there on the medium compound so SLR Jack alongside looked to use his softer tyre to get the jump off the line but didn’t manage to do so and actually found himself in P4 on the opening lap.

A few early wall taps and spins one of which was ssr halo and that dropped him back. Lap 6 saw a bit of a pile up with lots of cars involved at the hairpin. SLR dosser then had a spin losing P3 forcing him into an early stop as gaps between the field started to appear.

The pit window was now open for soft runners and a lot dived in to the pits for some fresh rubber.

On lap 16 dRaSt1k bLaZe and SLR Charlie worked there way passed qbr20 jay. Lap 18 put a stop to dRaSt1k bLaZe good work however as contact well trying to overtake Samlamenace and a surprisingly slow moving car coming out the pit lane meant he hit the back of them and lost his wing.

Meanwhile out front SLR EVVO still yet to pit and SLR block has now pitted and was within the window where he would be leading once EVVO pit. Meanwhile SLR Jack was in 3rd quietly going about his race.

EVVO now having pitted had come out behind SLR Jack but on fresh softs looked to right up to the back of Jack. Alpeh was also on fresher soft tyres looking to make up places.

SLR EVVO had a spin and had to pit in the closing stages but had enough of a gap that he still came out in P3. Alpeh behind them also hit the wall and forced him into a late stop.

SLR block took the win though and by quite a margin so a brilliant drive from him. SLR Jack claimed P2 his best finsih of the season, SLR EVVO took 3rd. Skullkiller perhaps under the radar took P4 and his highest finsih of the season. SLR dosser somehow managed P5 despite making 3 pit stops so that’s a great effort. Ssr halo P6, Alpeh P7, SLR Charlie P8, active jmc P9 and dRaSt1k bLaZe will claim the final point in P10

Alpeh vs bcfcjosh1232752 - lap 6 - outcome - 10 second penalty&3LP to josh. josh puts his car in a position which would inevitably cause a crash with alpeh and then at the hairpin causes a huge pile up effecting multiple drivers.

dRaSt1k BLazE vs samlamenance vs goldeneggfryer - lap 18 outcome - NFA after watching the clips sent to us Blaze was going for a move which is well within his rights but such is the nature of the track, goldeneggfryer was exiting the pits as the two cars were already side by side this resulted in the crash. We saw this incident as an extremely unlucky and nothing

Division 4 race was not counted due to a game breaking glitch causing multiple drivers to get stuck in the pitlane, and to ensure the most fair outcome for everyone we decided not to count the results and go straight to the next one instead. Any further questions on the matter contact one of the LOs, thanks.
