Mexico

McKeon

SLR crosses the border into Mexico for the Mexico City Grand Prix and it was a dominant performance in qualifying from reserve ETE Rusty, setting a brilliant 1:13.599, which would end up being a staggering 0.732 faster than Raceroller, who'd be starting alongside on the front row. SLR Corey in the McLaren was 0.802 off the pole time, but his time still good for a strong P3 start, and looking to be in the best position for the slipstream to T1

The race would get underway and it would be a drag race between the two leaders, with Raceroller just edging out Rusty in a crucial move for the lead on the exit of T3. It would be a crowded first sector, but biggest gainers would be Riggs in the Alpine to P9, up 4, ETE Crowding up 3 to P12, and championship challenger Midzy15 up 2 places to P8

Bezzas would look to take advantage from SLR Corey after the McLaren suffered an aggressive snap of oversteer off the exit of the final corner and with the straight being one of the longest in F1, presented the Williams the best opportunity for a move.

With DRS being enabled, Rusty would look to close in on the leading Red Bull, and with brilliant side by side racing from both drivers, the Aston Martin would edge out and regain the lead. Crispy in the Alpine would look to follow Bezzas through and would also make it through and up to P5

SLR Corey aimed to return the favour on Crispy on Lap 6, but contact would be made at turn 1, resulting in the McLaren spinning off the track and to the back of the train.

Midzy15 triggered the undercut to get out of the traffic on lap 8 with an early stop onto the mediums, looking to push further up the train. On the same Lap, ETE Crowding and PaRa Quick would go side by side through the slow triangle in S2 and the Mercedes would gain into the long esses section

The grid would be a bit cautious to react to the Williams undercut attempt, as nobody would pit from the front on Lap 9. Raceroller would pit at the start of Lap 10 to undercut the leading Aston Martin, and letting his teammate SLR Dylan, pursue the lead.

Lap 11 would see most of the drivers in the pit, but not much would change for the lead as Rusty was able to put in a pacey inlap and come out ahead of the charging bulls. Midzy15 would be able to jump up and slot in behind his teammate, gaining a couple positions, but with Crispy hot on the heels, it wouldn't be an easy feat to keep the place Rusty would have the issue of a track penalty to contend with, and would be looking to extend the gap, but with both bulls in the DRS, it would be a game of whether the Aston Martin could pull out the 1s DRS gap to try and then pull away in ean air.

The pressure would alleviate slightly with Raceroller also getting a penalty on Lap 17, but with his Teammate SLR Dylan getting past on the same lap, it would be a strategical call by red bull to push and keep the pressure on Rusty

By half distance, it would be only the alfa romeo of Mr Ogween yet to make a pitstop, as they looked to stretch out their medium tyres and look to keep race strategies open VRA Andres on the softs looked up the inside of SLR Niki on the mediums on Lap 22, and with the AlphaTauri remaining firm on position, kept position, but as the two battled, his teammate, Ghost Colt fancied his chances, but got caught up in the crossfire, and would be sent into a spin.

Andres would get the move done next time round, and would return the favour the SLR Niki by being just as fiery in racing.

The second round of stops would open around lap 24, but out in front, Rusty would continue extending the gap on SLR Dylan, up to 5s by lap 24, as Midzy, Crispy, Andres, Jibjab and Colt all coming in.

Mr Ogween would play into the race well as they would put onto fresh softs, and into the heart of the train for position, and being penalty free, was in a very suitable and strong position for a result. Crispy would make the move on Midzy into T1 on Lap 26 and Bezzas would also be let through to give chase

SLR Dylan would pit on lap 27 whilst Rusty would continue round again, with the tyres looking good still, the Aston Martin would keep the lead. The battle between Andres and V2 would get hot with some wheelbanging in the final sector, and a battle which would see the Aston Martin win out over the Ferrari.

SLR Corey would be up in P3 after only stopping the once, but would lose ground to the 2 stoppers and would be down in P6 in a matter of laps

ETE Crowding and Jibjab battled over P10, but contact would see the Mercedes spin round on the racing line at T1, and SLR Niki, with nowhere to go, would collide with the stricken Mercedes, losing them both valuable time and likely damage

With a bold, yet measured, 1 stop strategy, it would be ETE Rusty to take the chequered flag in Mexico and take the victory on 25lap old medium tyres, with Raceroller being let past to get P2 in the race, and his teammate SLR Dylan, securing another Red Bull double podium in P3

crowding vs jibjab

Verdict: NFA

Reason: we feel crowding causes the initial contact by going slightly deep and jibjab left just about enough room

Niki lap 31

Verdict: race ban+5LP to SLR/ETE Niki

Niki unfortunately was affected in the above incident, as he was given damage, however rather than drive safely back into the pits he proceeded to drive very slowly, smashing into several Pirelli boards, before straight-lining the entire track before retiring in the pits. We can accept that he would have been annoyed at his incident but that’s no excuse to drive in such an unprofessional manner. This could have potentially affected other drivers on track by either causing a safety car or Niki causing a collision with them. Therefore we have chosen to award him with a race ban as these are not appropriate driving standards for a serious racing league.

Div 1 Race Result

We kicked the weekend off in Mexico and an early shock, championship leader wasn’t able to set a valid lap in q1 meaning he’d start p20 and last!

Another shock was the gap pole man SLR Semm left between him and second place man EliteXriskz, 5 tenths! An unbelievable lap which was the second fastest lap during the whole weekend through all divisions only second to the pole sitter in the mckeon division!

The 5 lights went out and after a poor start Semm dropped from 1st to 4th, elite was up to first and after a good start from 4th Owenhowell36 was up to 2nd!

Lap 3 and DPT Paul was our first man to retire as he crashed out, sotierclock110 and Adrian VII came in for early stops. Shortly after, the two pre race favourites Semm and Connor found their way past Owen demoting him to 4th then a lap later Alfie was also past Owen.

Lap 10 and the first of the leaders, Connor was in for a fresh set of mediums, elite and Semm would follow the lap later but they stayed in the same order. Bennett would extend 4 extra laps to try and give himself the best chance later on in the race with less miles on his tires.

Lap 14 and we had our second retiree, masongammon then a lap later Semm made his move on Connor in hope to chase leader elite. Championship leader smoke after starting from last knew he would have to do something special to salvage good points, opted for the 1 stop and not long before he was going to pit, the safety car was out after DPT Alfie crashed!

The safety car meant that everyone would get a free pitstop, everyone in the top 10 pitted for mediums other than smoke who started on mediums so put the softs on.

The safety car came in and it was a sprint to the end, pre race favourite Semm after putting in such a Stella performance in qualifying crashed in the middle sector! Heartbreaking for the Williams’s driver. Despite both Aston martins challenging for the title they would work together to finish ahead of Owen, bennett let smoke past as he had no penalties whilst smoke was on softs so would get past Owen and then as his tires would begin to lose speed he would slow Owen down meaning bennett could stay within 6 seconds of Owen, great team work from the constructors and championship leaders!

Connor in p2 was chasing leader elite down until the very last lap But just couldn’t get close enough to get past, elite took the checkered flag to finish first, Connor just behind but after elite was investigated by the stewards for consistent abuse of the track limits he was penalised, given a 5 second time penalty meaning the winner of the Mexican Grand Prix was SLR Connor elite did end up on the second step of the podium and despite finishing p5 on track after keeping it clean and getting no penalties where the drivers around him did, SLR Bennett rounded out the podium and now takes the lead of the championship.

Congratulations to the podium sitters and we will be back next week for the Brazilian Grand Prix!

ELiTE x RisKz - Unsporting behaviour (exposing track limits)

Outcome: 5 seconds + 2LP

Reason: Elite was found to be exploiting track limits at the exit of turn 3 as the game doesn't penalise you for it to gain unfair advantages at least 11 separate times during the race from what us stewards have been provided. As this was happening very often during the race, time and licence points have been given

Division 2

In Division 2 this week Zachisbeast could win the title and that was made slightly easier with Zach’s closest rival SLR Leah not racing this week meant he needed to finish 4th or higher to secure the title.

In qualifying SLR Quattro looked the man to beat in the first two session but he struggled when it really mattered and only managed a P9 in Q3. Zachisbeast would claim pole with SLR Dosser joining him on the front row.

To the race then and we saw a safety car on the opening lap as SLR Charlie and SLR Quattro came together before the first turn meant they both crashed out.

It wasn’t long before the second safety car as another entanglement meant for further debris to be picked up.

Back underway properly on lap 5 and a few close battles on track throughout.

Just as a tactical battle looked to be unfolding with the soft runner starters having now pit a 3rd safety car appeared on lap 13

Only 11 runners remaining at this stage with still half the race to go.

Lap 20 saw lots of contact. And SLR Jack spin from a promising position.

SouthRaptor966 making his debut was just keeping it nice and smooth and found himself running P3 which was great showing.

Brilliant move on lap 24 by GoldenEggFryer to get past OG James as the battle for 5th heated up with 10 laps left.

Pit window then opened to take the softs to the end of the race. Leader Zach comfortably in and out in the net lead and looking great to take the win.

In the closing stages on the last lap. Southraptor made it up to P2 getting past AdaaamLee and GRT Andrew got past OG James to jump up to P4.

But it was Zachisbeast with a commanding victory and with that the division Championship. Huge congratulations to him.

SouthRaptor was 2nd, AdaamLee taking soft tyres a huge 16 laps to get on the podium. OG James P4, SLR Jack P5, reserve driver SSR Halo P6, GRT Andrew P7 having picked up a few penalties. SLR Hicklin P8, GoldenEggFryer P9 and J Lee Menz P10

Incident - Several drivers vs Drastik blaze

Outcome - 3 Race ban to Drastik blaze

Reason - Several incidents of bad race craft were sent in against blaze, including blaze taking another driver out on purpose, we believe this is a fair punishment for blaze.

Incident - Charlie vs Quattro

Outcome - Racing incident

Reason - Quattro tired to go between original and Charlie but Charlie has to make room for Andrew on his right, this leads him to drift slightly to the left, we believe Quattro had the right to try the move but it’s not uncommon for this incident to happen at tracks like Mexico.

Incident - Original vs southraptor

Outcome - no further action

Reason - Raptor was trying to let Drastik blaze past from an illegal overtake, for some reason blaze doesn’t overtake him and raptor gets a time penalty.

Incident - Original vs Hicklin

Outcome - 5 Seconds and 1LP to hicklin

Reason - Hicklin tries to leave a cars width but turns in slightly to early and spins original.

Incident - Original vs Menz/blaze

Outcome - 5 second and 1 LP to Menz

Reason - Menz misses his braking point and hits into blaze.
