The French Grand Prix saw ABR Freeman take back to back victories despite a late surge from JamHam aiming to change that.

Crispy came home 3rd to take yet another podium in what is turning out to be a brilliant season from the Alpha Tauru driver, his teammate Midzy made it an AT 3-4 as they continue their dominance in the constructors championship.

Ham came home 5th to maintain some pressure on the championship leaders with raceroller in 6th.

Despite a poor qualifying Hoop recovered well to take P7 and the fastest lap in a damage limitation drive.

ZyDRAD also found himself on a recovery drive to take P8 with Merkz in 9th, a solid qualifying giving him the foundation for points.

Niki rounded out the points continuing his resurgence as of late.

We had two retirements but overall it was a clean race, no incidents were reported so we can move swiftly onto Austria as Freeman looks to make it three wins a row, a rare achievement in SLR and particularly the elite division.

The Paul Ricard circuit in Southern France plays host to round 10 of the SLR Season 6 championship in division one, and the weekend couldn’t have started any better for BrindyBoi67 and Williams as they made it a hat-trick of pole positions, three on the bounce after valiant efforts from the top 8 in the session as they were all in the conversation at some point throughout the session, but BrindyBoi67 was aware of the challenges, and kept his cool to post a 1:27.523, which was 1tenth faster than CechThisOut in the Ferrari and SillyBunny47711 in the Mercedes, as they rounded out the top 3.

The 5 lights would switch off, but it was Bennett628 again who was the most switched on at the start, making 2 places after getting a clean launch and slotting himself in behind BrindyBoi67 while CechThisOut and SillyBunny47711 got caught up in their own feud. Riggsey x found himself in P5 at the start, but running in P18 by turn 3 after contact was made with SillyBunny47711 as he looked to capitalise on the Mercedes’ slow exit of turn 2, but it was to no avail.

BlandSiamang908 would retire in the pitlane on Lap1 and would quickly be followed by SLR Connor on Lap 6 after contact at turn 14 on lap 6, however, this brought out the safety car and was prime opportunity for all to jump onto the hards to the end on the conservative 1stop medium to hard strategy, but forced hard starts ARL PReDaToRZz and LegendaryDannyD to jump onto the softs to see if they could through the field. CechThisOut and ERN Massey threw the dice on strategy and opted for a two stop, and Bennett628, who made headway on the first stint, was caught out by the safety car’s appearance, and was left leading the field away on its return to the pits on lap9, massively compromising his strategy

BrindyBoi67 would quickly retake the lead as Bennett628’s tyres would leave him exposed to the rest of the grid trying to find their way past, but showed to be the stopgap between the Williams and the Ferrari, but eventually began giving way as the tyres were gone and dived into the pits on Lap12. BrindyBoi67 had built a 3s gap at the front, but it was the battle for P2 that would be a main focus as CechThisOut, SillyBunny47711 and SLR Semm were all battling hard and ERN Massey was close behind, on softer rubber. SLR Dylan would heed the way in the battle for the midfield with Sotierclock110, Jibjab325 and Lewisod in close company, with Riggsey x beginning his comeback charge and finishing out the top 10 at the midway mark

The comeback story would continue as the Renault driver would make his way past Sotierclock110, who both enjoyed a good battle here last season, at the swooping right hander of turn 11, throwing it up the inside and with great respect between the two, the space was there and the Renault jumped up to P7. Jibjab325 and SLR Dylan would be locked in battle and this allowed Riggsey x to close the gap and with a daring move round the outside of the penultimate corner, Riggsey x found his way past jibjab up to P6 as they drag-raced down to turn 1, but the Racing Point would find himself in a spin after a soft tap of the Renault sidepod and lost all he gained in the race.

History was to repeat itself for Riggsey x, but with the other Mercedes at turn 3, as he went for a move up the inside of SLR Dylan at turn 3 on lap21, contact was made and then a double slam for the Renault driver as he tried to get back in the race and made more contact, but with SLR Liam, and picked up damage in the resulting spin, sending him to the back after a pitstop for repairs.

The race would see some close battles in the closing stages, but it was BrindyBoi67 yet again, a hat-trick of pole positions, made it a hat-trick of race victories in France, not as dominant, but untroubled as SillyBunny47711 would take a strong p2 and SLR Semm rounding out the podium. SLR Liam was nominated as the driver of the day after a quiet, but impactful charge after starting P12 and ended up in 7th at the end of the race

SLR Dylan - SC

outcome: 2 LPs

We believe that Dylan has broken an unwritten rule of SLR not to slow down unnecessarily under SC, however the fact that is unwritten means it would be ludicrous to award a penalty if the driver had no knowledge of such a rule, and their is no rule stewards can point at that he broke. We have instead awarded 2 LPs, and are pushing towards creating a new rule which will prevent driving slowly under SC. We are also stating that any further incidents will be treated far more harshly with time penalties.

Riggsey x vs SillyBunny47711

outcome: Racing incident

We believe it was a racing incident as both drivers do nothing wrong, Bunny leaves space whilst Riggs goes for a move which is definitely on. It is ultimately unlucky for Riggs, however it is not Bunnys fault nor riggs, just hard old rotten luck.

Riggsey x vs SLR Dylan

outcome: 5 seconds

Dylan fails to leave adequate space for Riggs, which leads to Riggs spinning, the stewards understand that it is tricky to leave space round that particular corner, however drivers must provide at least space for 1 cars width which is not done. As a result of the lack of room Riggs makes contact and spins, therefore Dylan is awarded a 5 second penatly.

Riggsey x vs SLR Liam

outcome: No further action

Liam is unaware of Rigg reentering the track due tot he angle Riggs reenters from, it is another drivers fault and as such no further action will be taken.

What a week we had in France! Pretty much rain in all divisions, and ours started from the get go in div 2!

The awkward conditions saw a lot of people misjudge them, meaning that we had 2 drivers unable to set a lap and a further 2 out early, including 2 of our top 4 in the championship!

It was inters from then on, and it was Coupe a Benz who would eventually take pole from rockamad73 (on the front row for the 7th time this season), with SLR Leah taking third in his best quali so far in Season 6.

In the race it was plenty of carnage early on and we saw a safety car too, after an incident saw SSR Halo out very early on. it seemed as if Coupe a Benz and rockamad73 were walking away with it until a second Safety Car came out, triggering the pit stops, with the former retaining the lead and the latter a few cars behind.

Then it was go go go once again and the Benz/rockamad battle was reignited, both with penalties from the game, but still with enough space not to lose any positions.

Then their worst nightmares were reincarnated when a third full course caution was enabled with just a couple of laps remaining. This kept the field close and saw the leading two drop a couple of positions on the line.

It would be SLR Leah who took P1 for the second time this season after not having any penalties seeing Coupe a Benz demoted to P2, still his best result of the season so far. SLR Barlow completed the podium followed by OwenHowell36, who’s alternate strategy gave him driver of the day from P17. Then finally rockamad73 took P5 after the 5 second penalty he got under the safety car. Then followed ZachIsBeast25 and craigfk who both gained on championship leader SLR FemPest, then completing the points was debutant Jimmo00, J Lee Menz and dRaSt1k bLazE!

IGOR vs SLR Panther - Unsafe rejoin + Terminal damage (lap 10)

Outcome: 30s + 5LP for SLR Panther

Reason: The stewards determined that while SLR Panther has recently dropped traction control, he should be held in the same regard as he would’ve been held before dropping the assist. He clearly loses the rear of the car coming out of the middle sector chicane, and then loses the car again when attempting to rejoin the race. As his car spears across the track, he slams the brakes bringing his car to a dead stop across at least half of the circuit. Igor can be forgiven for thinking a spinning car will come across the track further than it did, and then driving into Panther’s car as a result. Panther’s car ultimately should never have been there in the first place, hence the penalty for retiring another driver.

Rockamad vs SLR Scopez - 5 second penalty under SC (lap11)

Outcome: Scopez receives a 20s time pen + 4LP

Reason: As Rockamad rejoins the circuit under SC after a pitstop, he is ahead of Scopezz’s car. Scopezz’s momentum means he overtakes and then rightly gives the place back to Rockamad. He then inexplicably ploughs into the back of his car causing Rockamad to gain a 5 second Penalty. Therefore a 20s Penalty is awarded to Scopezz for his misdemeanor. The stewards cannot remove the 5s penalty gained by Rockamad given that the race director evidence provided showed laps 1-26, but not lap 27. Therefore it could be argued that there is doubt as to whether Rockamad did serve his 5s penalty. Thus, the stewards have decided not to remove the penalty in this instance.

Cal M Smith - speeding into pits during qualifying

Outcome: 2LP for Cal M Smith

Reason: Speeding into the pitlane is completely unnecessary in any instance. The stewards found Cal’s conduct in this scenario to be rather reckless. While he didn’t gain anything from speeding into the pitlane, he’s also demonstrated a conduct with his pit entry which contravenes the rulebook, and gives the stewards no choice but to award the standard 5s + 1LP penalty for speeding into the pitlane. Given this is a Qualifying incident, this is converted to 2LP only.

SLR Fempest vs SLR Scopezz - causing a spin (lap 23)

Outcome: 15s + 3LP awarded to SLR Scopezz

Reasoning: The stewards felt that Fempest was alongside scopezz going through T12, by having at least having his front wheel alongside Scopezz’s rear wheel. Therefore he deserves the respect of commanding at least some room from Scopezz. Scopezz then proceeds to completely chop off Fempest going into 12, taking a line that was akin to the racing line, leaving no room, and spinning the Mercedes. Dawzie alongside enough. Scopezz turns across and leaves no room for the first apex of T12, spinning Fempest as a result.

SLR Fempest vs Cal M Smith - Driving unnecessarily slowly under SC (lap 10)

Outcome: 10s + 2LP awarded to Cal M Smith

Reasoning: The penalty is awarded for the way in which Cal M Smith slowed to create the gap to his teammate to avoid the double stack. While there is no set rule which prevents drivers from dictating the pace under SC when running to a delta, it was clear to the stewards in this case that the way in which Cal had created a gap to his teammate in front was dangerous to cars behind as he slammed onto the brakes long before the pit lane speed limit line. The stewards also recognise that Fempest could’ve played more of a role in avoiding the incident itself, so while we place the majority of the blame on Cal for causing the incident by braking severely, long before the pit lane entry, the stewards have awarded half the allotted penalty for causing a collision under SC.

Panther vs Scopez - Dangerous defensive driving/blocking (lap 27)

Outcome: Warning to SLR Scopezz + Final warning to all drivers

Reasoning: Scopezz makes a late move to block off Panther from overtaking going up to the line. Late moves like this can cause horrific incidents, which we wish for all drivers to avoid causing. If the move was committed any later, then he would’ve chopped off Panther’s wing sending both cars into the pit wall and across the track in front of other cars. Therefore all drivers are reminded about the way in which they defend their positions in future. Aggressive late moves will no longer be tolerated.

J Lee Menz vs Jimmo - causing a spin (lap 26)

Outcome: No Further Action

Reasoning: Menz makes a half-hearted move up the inside of Jimmo going into T1. His front wing when turning into the corner was barely alongside the back wheel of Jimmo, meaning that Jimmo is entitled to take the corner in the way he has done. The stewards feel that Menz’s optimistic move and poor execution of said move was what ultimately caused the incident.

Scopez vs Zach & Cal M Smith - causing a collision & wing damage (lap 1)

Outcome: Cal M Smith receives 5s + 1LP and Zachisbeast awarded 1LP

Reasoning: Cal M Smith Receives a 5s penalty for making 2 moves into the braking zone, which sees him move right across the track, dangerously, and onto the kerb. This then causes the next incident between Zach and Scopezz. Zach receives 1LP for turning across Scopezz dangerously. Leniency in this case given the fault Cal M Smith played in causing the incident, however no regard is given to Scopezz being on the inside of him. In future his best move would be to turn right to avoid the incident entirely, and rejoin the track after the chicane, slotting back in to around the same position as he was when he came off.

Second incident is a Racing incident. Cal Loses the rear end of the car mid-corner, and corrects, sending his car across into the line of Scopezz, which he does react to. However, it is noted Scopezz then turns back to the right and into the Ferrari once they’re side by side. Therefore, the stewards felt that neither driver could be penalised as a result for this coming together. In future, Scopezz (or any other driver in this scenario) would be advised to use the run-off area on the track to avoid coming together with other drivers and making contact with them.

SLR Scopezz vs Craigfk - spinning another car (lap 10)

Outcome: Racing incident

Reason: The stewards felt that this was a repeat incident of the one between Scopezz and Benz in Spain earlier in the season. Craig leaves ample room on the inside of T4, and SLR Scopezz does not turn into the space left by Craig, and therefore initiating the contact between the 2 drivers and spinning himself out.

SSR Halo vs SLR Scopezz - causing terminal damage (lap 1)

Outcome: 30s + 5LP awarded to SLR Scopezz

Reason: Halo makes an ambitious move up the field following the fracas at the middle sector chicane on lap 1. He carves his way through the pack and alongside Scopezz into T11. While Halo keeps to the inside of T11, Scopezz could have and should have left more room on the inside for Halo to use going through such a fast corner. He turns across Halo marginally causing the first contact, and unsettling Halo’s car, which initiates the second contact that he leaves the Haas spinning into the barrier and out of the race.

Drastik Blaze - Cutting pit lane Entry (Qualifying)

Outcome: 2LP awarded to Drastik Blaze

Reason: Clear cut of pit entry. No Excuse to cut the entry to the pitlane at this time, and is considered dangerous given other cars could’ve been going into the pits at the same time. Therefore 2LP is awarded for pitlane entry infringements during qualifying.

Cal M Smith gets official warning as he is now on 7LP, Scopezz has a quali ban for next race after getting 12 LP in one race alone

Scopezz = 12LP

Cal M Smith = 5LP

Panther = 5LP

Blaze = 2LP

Zachisbeast = 1LP

Race 10 of the season in division 3 in France and it was yet again another wet race as torrential rain hit the Paul Ricard circuit. In a dry qualifying session, it was the Renaults and Alfa Romeo’s that formed the front 2 rows of the grid. SLR Hyperz in the Renault took pole position with SLR C0w3n in the Alfa Romeo making up the front row. SLR Dodgy in the other Alfa Romeo took P3 and SLR J3st3r in the second Renault that took P4. As the race got underway visibility was to a minimum as 20 cars hurtled towards T1. SLR Hyperz, SLR C0w3n and SLR J3st3r all managed to negotiate T1 but a connection issue for SLR Colden in the Mercedes caused a collision with SLR Dodgy as he lost his end plate and dropped into 4th. It was a great start for I21I Maxwell in the Mclaren as he gained 8 places into P6 by the end of sector 1 as SLR Spr1tley in the Racing point was in P5. By lap 3 SLR Russell in the Ferrari had made his way up into P5 and SLR Dodgy into P3 but it was SLR Hyperz leading the way by a second from SLR C0w3n. ap 5 and we had the first retirement as Baggiefan1995 in the Ferrari crashed out at the start of sector 3 bringing out the VSC. Lap 6 and SLR Russell was making moves into P4 against SLR J3st3r but as the 2 came round turn 11 SLR Russell lost grip and almost spun out but saved the car with some excellent driving to keep hold on P5.

By lap 9 SLR Russell had lost his early momentum as both Racing points of SLR Charlie and SLR Spr1tley were up to P6 and P7 with SLR Russell down to P8. Lap 12 and a second VSC was called as SLR Russell crashed out after the chicane in sector 2 and became the second retiree of the race as I21I Maxwell, SLR Spr1tely and Scott85laney all made the first of the pitstops onto fresh wet tyres. The following lap saw both Renaults of SLR Hyperz and SLR J3st3r and the Alfa Romeo of SLR Dodgy make their first stops as SLR c0w3n took the race lead. This brought SLR Charlie into P2 and SLR Nealix was up into P4 and SLR Gareth in P5. Lap 14 then saw SLR C0w3n and SLR Charlie both make their stops from the front and were both given a 5s penalty for speeding into the pit lane as SLR Hyperz regained the lead & I21I Maxwell set the fastest lap. Lap 15 and GrumpyOrange976 was up into P2 choosing not to stop but had both Alfa Romeos closing him down. By lap 16 SLR C0w3n made the pass on GrumpyOrange976 at T10 as SLR Dodgy was forced wide to avoid a collision with GrumpyOrange976. Lap 17 then saw grumpyOrange976 make a mistake at T4 as SLR Dodgy made his move into P3 up the inside of T5.

SLR Hyperz in the lead had now opened a 9 second gap at the front as I21I Maxwell then made his move past GrumpyOrange976 into P4. With GrumpyOrange976 then pitting at the end of lap 17 this brought SLR Charlie into P5 chasing I21I Maxwell down. Lap 23 and SLR C0w3n and SLR Dodgy in the Alfa Romeos did a switch of positions with SLR Dodgy taking P2 in the final 4 laps but the lead for SLR Hyperz was 10 seconds and was unlikely to be caught. With no further drama it was to be an excellent race from the Div3 drivers in torrential rain with no safety car all race. At the end of lap 27 it was SLR Hyperz took the chequered flag with SLR Dodgy in P2 and I21I Maxwell took the final podium spot in P3. SLR C0w3n took P4, SLR J3st3r P5, SLR Charlie P6, SLR Gareth P7, Lofty4794 P8, SLR St20h P9 and x J Geddes x in P10.
