Interlagos

JamHam sealed the elite championship at Interlagos. A P5 finish for the Williams man was enough for him to take his second SLR F1 championship and his first elite title.

Ham won the race from 4th in the grid but it wasn’t enough to take the title to Abu Dhabi.

Gho3t C0LT took back-to-back podium with P2 after a brilliant strategy call during the changeable conditions. Raceroller got another podium in P3 after a close battle with Ham in the closing stages. Rando was P4 after starting dead last, an impressive result for the Red Bull driver. Jam was 5th, as we already mentioned, but the newly crowned champ didn’t have it easy. An intense battle with P6 man Southerner in the closing stages was crucial for the championship. BDunk came home 7th on his SLR return after a Q1 elimination. Nnath was demoted to 8th after post-race penalties and Bezzas finished 9th despite showing some very strong pace early on and SLR Vandoorne rounded out the points in debut.

Danny Jones showed some good pace but ended P11 on debut. MeRkz was unlucky to finish P12, having to put 4 times and having to serve a penalty after contact with Para behind a safety car. Smoke was P13 as he continues getting up to speed without the racing line. Zy was 14th after showing great pace early on. A mix up with strategy and then a drive through under the VSC put an end to his hopes of the win. Crispy, Para, V2, Tommy, Flembog and Freeman all failed to make the finish. Flembog looked strong in the early stages after taking pole. Freeman and V2 were running well inside the top 10 before contact, Crispy was unlucky with early damage and Para crashed late on and Tommy’s race came to end just after the halfway stage.

Both championships may be done but Elite always put on a show around Abu Dhabi. You don’t want to miss it!

Freeman vs V2 combat

Outcome: Racing incident

After reviewing the clip we have come to the conclusion that although both drivers come out with damage it is an unfortunate incident in which Freeman has drifted over to v2 and made contact with v2 rear tyre causing v2 to turn towards Freeman causing both drivers to hit the wall. V2 makes no sudden movements or attempts to move and cannot be penalised.

SLR Southerner vs nnathx Lap 19

Outcome: unsportsmanlike behaviour 3 second penalty

As both drivers approach the corner Nnathx has made contact with the rear of SLR southerners car causing him to go wide. Nnathx then takes the position due to this and does not return it.

SLR southerner vs Nnathx Lap 27

Outcome: 5 Second penalty 1LP

Penalty awarded for coming across the front of SLR Southerner’s car and not leaving the driver sufficient room

The Division One Championship heads to Brazil for the penultimate round of the Season 6 championship, and the race weekend could see a new driver crowned. The Season 5 championship was won at Brazil last season, could we see history repeat itself here in Interlagos this weekend. For the championship to continue to Abu Dhabi for the finale, Renault driver Riggsey x would need to finish either 1st and hoped Brindyboi67 would finish lower than 6th, or 2nd and the Williams driver failing to score a point. It was a monumental ask, but the fight was always there.

Qualifying would see the drivers so close together in terms of competitiveness, as one of the shorter tracks on the calendar, it meant no room for error, and little room for improvement, and qualifying in the sunny conditions seemed to favour the Mercedes of SLR Dylan, as he would go on to secure a rather commanding pole position, setting a 1:06.418, which was +0:203 faster than Cechthisout in the Ferrari, who was on the front row alongside. Riggsey x managed to get a strong time on the board, +0.334 slower than the pole time, but all he would be thinking about, would be outqualifying his rival, who was in P5 for the race start, just a few hundredths shy off the Renault driver’s time, and directly behind on the grid.

The race was slightly cloudier than in qualifying, but as the skies were darker, there was doubt about any rain showing up, so it was a showdown between the drivers in cloudy, overcast conditions, and with the start/finish straight being on a steep incline, it was crucial to apply the perfect amount of throttle. The lights went out and we went racing, and SLR Dylan had a massive snap of the rear off the grid, losing him valuable track position, and for Cechthisout to lead into turn 1. SLR Semm managed to sneak up the inside of Riggsey x and gain 2 places into 2nd, and Brindyboi67 playing it safe, maintaining position and having the Racing Point of Jibjab325 for close company off the start, it was a safe start, and that’s all he really needed at this stage.

36laps would bestow the drivers as championships could be decided today, and as Cechthisout led for the early laps, SLR Semm was just crucially, keeping inside the DRS he needed to fend off the Renault driver, who was itching to get past and put himself in a position to extend the fight. It wasn’t until Lap6 before we saw much going on, as SLR Dylan was looking for the exit up the hill to make a move for P3, but as the car stepped out on traction, threw the Mercedes onto the grass on the exit of T12, and dropped down the order.

Riggsey x was looking ever closer to the McLaren and P2 as the laps unfolded, and it was Lap 7 that he saw the chance. With a tentative exit off the final corner, Riggsey x used most of his battery up the hill and the slipstream off SLR Semm to craft out a move. SLR Semm went defensive into one, meaning that Riggsey x had to go the long way round, and both drivers never gave an inch, with the Renault showing the McLaren the kerb on the inside of 1, and elbows out into 2 saw Riggsey x take second, and tuck into the dirty air of the Ferrari leading. Following the move and SLR Dylan’s error, a top 6 was beginning to form, as SLR Liam ran in P6, 3s down the road by lap 10.

Riggsey would then get himself into the place he needed to be by lap 10, making the move on Cechthisout for the race lead into T1, but with Brindyboi67 in P5, it was all in vain as the drivers hit one third of the way. Jibjab began fancying his chances at the McLaren for the final podium place as the pit window was due opening. Jibjab has continuously shown a growth in race pace, and with tyre management becoming the power play, the Racing Point was one of the kinder drivers on their tyres at this stage. It would be SLR Liam and SLR McKeon, who were running 6th and 7th respectively, pulling the trigger on the undercut to see if they could cut the gap to the top 5. RIggsey x and Brindyboi67 would follow one lap later, with the Renault leading into the pit and the Williams mirroring the movements of the Enstone team, playing it safe, was the sensible option, and the right one, as the remaining leaders came in on Lap15, and this saw the Williams slot in behind Cechthisout, getting a double jump and into a net P3, but crucially out of the DRS of the leading two

SIllybunny47711 would take the lead on the alternate strategy with ARL PReDaToRZz and SLR Padre in P2 and P3 at the halfway period. Riggsey x and Cechthisout had their mediums fired up and began slowly building the gap to Brindyboi67, who was playing it safe, doing everything they needed to do, there was 0 benefit in risking things. SLR Semm also looked to be one of the fastest in the early stages of the medium tyre stint as he closed on the Williams, it looked to be a matter of when, rather than if, he would make the move. The opportunity would eventually show itself on lap20, with a smooth late braking move on the outside into T1 of the Williams, allowed Semm to drag himself, Brindy and Jibjab into contention for the win, as the top 2 had built a 2s gap, which is a lot on a short circuit.

Penalties began creeping in for the drivers as the track limits began impacting the drivers, and with the gaps being minimal between groups, penalties could play their role in the results. Jibjab was in the best position in the battle for the podium as they were able to conserve a healthy portion of their battery, waiting for the optimal time to attack SLR Semm and Brindyboi67, and the former began slowly eating into the gap of Cechthisout, as the top 2 was on the verge of a top 5 once again. SLR McKeon would get his way past SLR Liam for P6, as both would stick by each other as they aimed to charge up the grid.

Jibjab saw his opportunity into T1 on lap 27 on Brindyboi67, but with the Williams refusing to yield and using a bit of force to maintain position, it was a risk the Williams couldn’t afford to make, but Jibjab was able to back out before it could’ve went wrong, close hard racing between the pair, but a small scare for Brindy. Cechthisout would also resume the lead off Riggsey x, as both now had SLR Semm in their DRS, and looking like the quickest driver on track at this stage, but penalties would complicate his matters. Brindy also picked up penalties, so this did give small hope in the sake of the championship, but Riggsey x would be hoping for a caution to close the pack up and any other situation to unfold.

Brindyboi67 began dropping off from SLR Semm, as he had JibJab making the move, this time on the outside, on lap31, and the racing point was able to pursue the top 3 and look to close the 2s gap. As the final laps were being run, the Williams knew it was a matter of keeping the car within the white lines, keeping the car facing the right direction, and no error of judgement would see him put the second hand on the championship.

As Riggsey would take the lead off Cechthisout once again, both looked to have been working well and swapping places to help the other out, but as the championship battle looked locked in, Riggs and Cech looked to go for it, as both wanted the win, and both relished the challenge to go and take the win in a race that, for most, took its toll on energy, and made them work hard for their results. Riggsey led on the final lap, and had Cech on the outside going into T1, looking to give the Renault driver a taste of his own medicine and looked to make the same move he made on Semm earlier, but knowing the win was on the line, the Renault driver remained firm, as he muscled his way alongside T2 and had the inside into T3. Both would run side by side into 4, but it was the Renault who had the inside, and resumed the lead.

The battle would go to the very end, but with the Renault extremely slow on the exit of the final corner, speed differences from Riggsey x and Cechthisout had meant the Ferrari nudged the Renault on the exit, which led to Riggsey x spinning out of the lead, and onto the grass in a crucially sick twist of events in the stature of the championship. Had it finished the way the lap started, it wouldn’t be enough. Cechthisout, at the time of writing, has had a penalty applied, meaning that Jibjab325 would take his second win of the season in Sao Paulo, Brindyboi67 would be promoted to P2 in the official result, and crossing the line with a puncture to take the championship, a unique championship victory and conclusion. SLR Semm had taken P3 as Riggsey would come back on track and settle for P4, after doing everything that was asked for him in the final races, but it was just too big a mountain to climb in the end.

This paragraph is just to share Brindy’s celebrations with everyone in what has been a very interesting, intense and hard fought season, and from myself, the Div 1 admins, and the rest of the current grid, give our best wishes to the Williams driver in securing the season 6 championship in Brazil, taking it off of preceding champion, SLR Southerner. The driver’s championship concludes with jubilation for Williams, but heartbreak for Renault in the end, but at the end of the day, with the current strides the grid has taken in general performance, and through the hardships everyone has experienced throughout the challenging season, everyone has shown their true strengths throughout, and that is something everyone can take in their strides going into Season 7

Lap 36 - @SLR Cech - spinning another car - under investigation

Cech does spin round Riggs in the final “real” corner on the track. Whilst the stewards think that Riggs does seem to both brake a bit early and accelerate slightly later than usual, Cech does ultimately spin round Riggs costing him the chance of a victory.

Zachisbeast vs TRC AlfieDK - quali block

Outcome: 3LP awarded to Alfie for Blocking a Qualifying Lap

Reason: Clear Block of ZachisBeast’s qualifying lap, which prevents him from potentially progressing out of Q2.

Official Warning given to TRC AlfieDK for reaching 6 LP

Darren 22 vs Multiple others - spinning another car (lap 1)

Outcome: 20 seconds + 4LP awarded J Lee Menz for spinning another car and causing an incident involving multiple cars, SLR Teddy is awarded 1LP for joining an avoidable collision and becoming a hazard for other drivers.

LSW Legendz + Zachisbeast are cleared of all blame in this incident.

Reason: Legendz and Zach are simply caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, and are not at fault for causing any of the incidents in question. Legendz’s wheel banging with Menz was not the cause of Menz hitting the back of Darren and pitching him into a spin.

Menz is awarded the standard spinning penalty, with an extra 5s + 1LP for clearly spinning Darren, the incident of which causes no less than 2 other cars to also become involved in the incident. While it is a lap 1 Incident, the severity of the incident, causing a significant time loss to innocent parties, of which Legendz is forced to pit for repairs to his front wing, means this incident simply must be punished in this way to ensure a fair outcome for all drivers involved.

Teddy is awarded 1LP for joining the incident that was entirely avoidable. Given his view of events unfolding, his contact with Alfie is unavoidable, and must go down as a racing incident. However, after that initial contact, he then proceeds to apply full throttle, and plough straight into the already spinning car of Menz, showing poor spatial awareness and causing himself to become an extra hazard on circuit for cars behind. When this was completely unavoidable, the stewards felt that this was worthy of a licence point being awarded. While it is a shame to give a driver a race ban, and not something the stewards wanted to find themselves doing, Teddy’s driving conduct over the course of the season meant that ultimately he can only find himself responsible for this outcome.

SLR Teddy is awarded a Race ban for Abu Dhabi for accumulating 15LP over the course of the season.

Darren 22 vs Zachisbeast - Causing minor wing damage (lap 3/4)

Outcome: Racing Incident

Reason: Darren ducks out of the slipstream of Zach to the right, and Zach rightly keeps his car on a trajectory to defend the inside heading towards T1. Darren’s violent change of direction to attempt a move to the inside meant his car’s trajectory was always going to be with the pit wall. Zach’s maneuver to protect the inside was perfectly acceptable as he leaves a car’s width to the inside when realising the sudden trajectory change of Darren, which was entirely fair and sporting of him.

Darren 22 vs badders2576 - causing minor wing damage (lap 28)

Outcome: Racing Incident

Reason: Upon review, the stewards felt that Darren was always left with enough track space throughout T3, but his progress through T3 meant that he drifted into badders’ line going through the corner. Therefore the spin and subsequent damage was entirely Darren’s own doing. Unfortunate yes, but badders cannot be to blame in this instance.

SLR Leah - Jump start

Outcome: No Further Action

Reason: Leah doesn’t gain any significant time from the start, or seem to cause any issues for drivers through T1-T4. He also disconnects and ends up more or less in the same position at the end of lap 1, with his car being ghosted the entire time due to him leaving the lobby to sort connection issues.

OwenHowell36 vs SLR EVVO - forcing another car off track (lap 36)

Outcome: 5 second + 1LP awarded to SLR EVVO for forcing another driver off track

Reason: EVVO attempts a forceful, and desperate dive into T4, and while he just about makes the corner, and was reasonably alongside Owen at the apex, his trajectory forces Owen completely off track, and there was no evidence of EVVO giving back the position as a result of this frowned upon move.

SLR Hicklin vs J Lee Menz - forcing another driver off circuit (lap 36)

Outcome: 5 second + 1LP awarded to J Lee Menz for squeezing another driver off track

Reason: While Hicklin makes a slightly desperate move into T4, he does pull his car up in time. While he does end up on the kerb to begin with, which is not Menz’s fault, Menz does not leave any kind of room at the apex, which he ought to have done given the relative position of Hicklin’s car alongside going through T4. Had he left room and Hicklin understeered and spun accordingly, this would’ve been a racing incident, but because no adequate space was left, the blame lies at the feet of Menz.

J Lee Menz is given an official warning for accumulating 6 LP over the course of the season.

SLR Hicklin vs J Lee Menz - causing minor wing damage (lap 35)

Outcome: Racing Incident

Reason: Menz attempts to move himself off the kerb at T3, and keeps the inside line going through the turn. Hicklin turns into the space at the same time and both drivers end up merging, which is what causes the damage. Menz cannot be to blame on this occasion for this incident.

SLR Hicklin vs SLR Teddy - Causing a collision under SC (lap 23)

Outcome: 20s + 4LP awarded to SLR Teddy for causing a collision under SC

Reason: Teddy once again finds himself causing unnecessary contact with the car ahead under SC. While weaving to warm his tyres, he finds himself caught out by Hicklin’s slower moving car, but inexplicably continues to weave to warm his tyres while alongside, making contact with Hicklin as a result. Everything from being far too close to the car ahead under SC, continuing the changes of direction once he finds himself alongside, and the general rule of thumb that it’s the responsibility of the car behind not to make contact with the car in front means that Teddy must take sole responsibility for this incident.

SLR Hicklin vs Badders2576 - Spinning another car (lap 10)

Outcome: No Further Action

Reason: At T4, Hiclin goes for a move up the inside of Badders, and badders leaves a car’s width on the apex, but Hicklin understeers into the sidepod of badders, meaning his car is tipped into a spin.

Drastik Blaze - Erratic Driving/dangerous re-entry to track (lap 5)

Outcome: 5 second + 1LP awarded to Blaze for Dangerous Re-entry.

Reason: Blaze re-enters the track after T5 dramatically, and unsafely. He’s lucky not to make contact with the car of Hicklin as he drives past. While it’s recognised that he’s attempting to record a clip of the incident seconds before, he’s still responsible for his car’s actions while he is in the pause menu etc. So the blame must fall upon him for this.

Drastik Blaze is given an official warning for accumulating 6LP over the course of the season

Drastik Blaze vs Badders2576 - Causing major wing damage (lap 5)

Outcome: 15 seconds + 3LP awarded to Badderz for causing major wing damage

Reason: Badders and Blaze are side by side going through T4 and T5, but Badders puts his car up onto the kerb unnecessarily - because Blaze leaves his ample room on the inside of the track - and coming off the kerbing, his car is spat into Blaze causing him major wing damage. While this is just a driver error, it is the responsibility of Badders to keep control of his car during this scenario, and thus blame is placed at his feet for this incident.

SLR FemPest vs OwenHowell36 - Forcing another driver off circuit (lap 29)

Outcome: 3 second + 1LP awarded to OwenHowell36 for forcing SLR Fempest off track

Reason: Owen makes an overtake on Fempest going into T4, and is side by side on the inside towards the braking zone. However he suddenly moves his car towards Fempest’s line, making slight contact, forcing him onto the grass on entry. This move is unnecessary given the move was 9/10ths done and frowned upon by the stewards given he’s forced a competitor onto the grass. The time penalty attributed is reduced given the very minor consequences for Fempest’s overall race.

OwenHowell36 is awarded a Qualifying Ban for Abu Dhabi for accumulating 13LP over the season.

The penultimate race of division 3 brought us to Interlagos and the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace circuit where

championship leader SLR Dodgy was missing the race giving SLR Hyperz the chance to close the gap and take the

championship fight to Abu Dhabi. In qualifying it was Lofty4794 who for the second week running took pole position

with SLR J3st3r taking P2 on the grid. SLR Dolph1n and UnrealSalmon590 claimed the second row of the grid with

SLR Hyperz starting in P6. Lap 1 seemed to be a clean getaway for all drivers from the start through sector 1 until an

incident involving SLR Spr1tley and GrumpyOrange976 put them to the back of the field as Lofty4794 opened a 2

second lead by the end of the lap. By lap 4 SLR Hyperz who gained 2 places from the start made a pass on

UnrealSalmon590 into P3 as he looked to keep his championship alive. SLR Doph1in then made a late braking move

into T4 as he also passed UnrealSalmon590 to take P4 as UnrealSalmon590 was beginning to fall back. Into lap 5 and

SLR Gareth was next to pass UnrealSalmon590 ahead of T1 with Baggiefan1995 the next in line to try and make an

attack. By the end of the lap both Baggiefan1995 and SLR Charlie1 has both made overtakes on UnrealSalmon590.

Lap 9 then saw some great action as UnrealSalmon590, I Cxmzn I and SLR Russell were all fighting wheel to wheel for

P7 in sector 1 as SLR Dolph1n in P6 took a spin at T4. This then caused a chain reaction of events as

UnrealSalmon590 and SLR Russell collided at T5 both crashing off track as I Cxmzn I managed to avoid it all and move

up into P6 as the SC was called.

SLR Hyperz decided to use the SC for a pitstop for fresh soft tyres re-joining in P6.

Lap 14 then saw SLR Hyperz making his move into P4 as he made the pass on I21I Maxwell into T1 and T2. SLR

Colden then made an identical move on I21I Maxwell on the next lap into P5. Lap 16 and SLR Hyperz then made the

same move on SLR Charlie into T1 to take P3 but the pair went wheel to wheel through turns 4 and 5 with SLR

Hyperz taking the position. Lap 17 and T1 was continuing to be a successful passing point as SLR St20h made the pass

on I21I Maxwell into P5 as X J Geddes x was sniffing just behind in P7. I21I Maxwell then tried to take the place back

into T4 only for SLR St20h to defend the outside and maintain P5. Lap 17 then saw SLR J3st3r pit from P2 pushing SLR

Hyperz up into P2 behind Lofty4794 as SLR Colden was now up into P3. Lofty4794 then came into pit lap 18 which

promoted SLR Hyperz into the lead, SLR Colden P2 and UK I Demonz P3 as Lofty4794 returned in P10 with no further

stops in the race. Lap 20 then saw Nedklaw tap the back of UnrealSalmon590 at T1 which saw the 2 lose position as

Lofty4794 made up 2 places into P7. Nedklaw and UnrealSalmon590 then came to blows again at the end of lap 21

both crashing off track at the final turn. SLR Hyperz then came into pit on lap 22 from the lead for his final stop

coming back out in P6 as SLR st20h was the new leader. Laps23/24 then saw a double move in sectors 3 and 1 as SLR

Hyperz passed both x J Geddes x and I cxmzn I to take P4 behind his teammate.

Lofty4794 then took P1 on Lap 25 as

he made a move on SLR St20h as he looked to make the race win from here. Laps 25 and 26 then saw the Renaults of

SLR J3st3r and SLR Hyperz battle for P3 where some may have thought that SLR J3st3r may have moved over for the

place. Lap 28 then saw SLR Hyperz move up into P2 as he made the move stick on SLR St20h round T4 as he looked

to maximise his points gain on SLR Dodgy for the final race. Lap 29 then had SLR J3st3r and SLR St20h battle for P3

with some wheel to wheel action through sector 1 only for SLR J3st3r to yield and hold back behind. SLR Charlie1

then went off at T5 and ended his race bringing out a full SC on lap 29. With SLR St20h and SLR J3st3r both opting to

pit this pushed IUKI Demonz up into P3 with only a small number of laps remaining. Despite the close final few laps

after the SC period at the chequered flag it was Loft4794 who took P1 with SLR Hyperz taking P2 and UK I Demonz

making up the podium in P3. SLR Colden took P4, SLR Gareth P5, SLR J3st3r P6, I21I Maxwell was P7,

x J Geddes x P8, SLR Stevooo P9 & SLR St20h in P10.

Brazil - Division 3 stewardsrapport

1) Incident - Russell vs Cmxzn/UnrealSalmon

Outcome - 15 Seconds And 3LP and Cxmzn

Reason - Cxmzn doesn’t react to UnrealSalmon slowing down (UnrealSalmon is slowing to avoid Dolphin who was rejoining the track) and Cxmzn hits him, which in turn gives Russell damage. Cxmzn made no attempt to slow down before hitting UnrealSalmon so we give him the penalty.

Extra note for this Incident - Warning to Dolphin for rejoining the track very dangerously, since the incident wasn’t against him we feel it would be harsh to penalise him given he had no chance to defend himself.

2) Incident - GrumpyOrange Reset to track.

Outcome - No Further action.

Reason - The game reset GrumpyOrange’s car automatically, which he had no control over.

3) Incident - GrumpyOrange vs Dolphin

Outcome - Racing Incident

Reason - Dolphin leaves the space but after a small initial touch, GrumpyOrange straightens up and hits dolphin again which sends him into the spin.

4) Incident - Charlie vs Cxmzn

Outcome - 15 Seconds And 3 LP to Cxmzn

Reason - Cxmzn slightly taps Charlie which sends Charlie into the wall giving him terminal damage. We have reduced Cxmzn’s penalty from the normal terminal damage penalty as we believe that the games terrible contact system is partially to blame.

5) Incident - GrumpyOrange vs Demonz/Stevo/Sprightly

Outcome - Racing Incident

Reason - Stevo and Demonz have a slight collision and Stevo loses control of his car and hits GrumpyOrange. We aren’t penalising Stevo as he had no control of his car as mentioned.

6) Incident - Stevo vs 5 Second Penalty.

Outcome - Penalty Stands

Reason - We believe that Stevo broke suddenly and was unnecessary due to his fairly big gap to the car infront. There was arguments for both keeping and removing the penalty but we’ve decided to keep the penalty and let appeals give their verdict if Stevo does appeal.

Extra Note: I Cxmzn I issued with a warning for reaching 6 Licence Points.
