No pissing around lets get straight to it! Corey gets pole position for the 6th time in his F2 career. In tenth starting on reverse grid pole was Semm. Don’t know who was more nervous…..Semm or the rest of the grid.
Semm got away off his grid slot just as quick as the FIA sorting out a punishment for RedBull for a budget cap breach. It was Merkz vs Stan for the lead for most of the race. The duelling kept things close between the front six. Laps later UKBeast got the move done for the lead but carried a three second time pen. Nevertheless the Campos driver managed to pull away and win by 0.3 seconds! Merkz just missed out on a win but achieved his first SLR F2 podium in four seasons! So be it he wasn’t here for three of them but still great to have a classic name back on the rostrum! SLR Ham finished third only 0.5 from the race win. SLR Allen was your Evo Sprint winner who also once again scored points in which proved to be a very good season so far for the HWA driver.
For the feature we started off in the rain and ended in the dry. The Darnell brothers who both started seventeenth and nineteenth were already into the top five after three laps! Goated stuff! Cant wait to see what Olivia can do when she races. Southerner proved to be very quick in the wet even overtaking brother Darnell round the outside of turn one….one for my trophy cabinet. Then it dried up and the reverse happened. Griffiths mastered the wet and the dry conditions to take an emotional win for the Prema driver who in recent days suffered the loss of his great friend Mars. A win to which he dedicated to. Ham came home second just missing out on another win by half a second and championship leader Corey finished third who yet again extended his championship lead.
