France

The S7 championship returned to Europe for the French Grand Prix in the south coast region of Paul Ricard. A track that doesn't always provide the grand spectacle in racing terms, but a strong venue for the drivers nonetheless, as we approach a third of the calendar distance, and now we have some flavour as to who is in the running for the coveted championships Qualifying would see a direct battle between McLaren and Williams, which really does feel like some late 80s throwback, with Woking beating Grove to pole position. Crispy2001 would heed a McLaren 1-2 in qualifying, setting a time of a 1:28.845, 2hundredths quicker than his teammate PaRa Quicks, and a tenth faster than Midzy15. All three drivers were the only ones to achieve an 88second lap time. The skies would be darker and the track would be cooler, meaning drivers altering what they can within the means of Parc Ferme, and set themselves up for the race ahead The start would be fairly steady on the rundown to a turn 1, with SLR Alfie bogging down on the start and trundling off the line, falling like a stone after the P4 start, however, chaos would kick off on the exit of turn 2. Jibjab and SLR Alfie would both spin on the exit of the chicane, and as their slow spinning cars stayed on the track, it created a domino effect at the back as half the grid got caught up in some kind of contact, and resulted in mass damage for most of the field, and also strong skill and craft to avoid any incident. The incident would soon see half the grid in for repairs, and for Sillybunny, SLR Alfie, and SLR Dylan, would see them in for retirement from this race. A VSC would come out for the debris scattered across the first chicane. The mayhem and early racing laps allowed for crucial race development to be made, as the top 3 managed to break free from ghost colt early on, and with FRA Jam and ZyDRAD, both who were eliminated in Q1, managed to teeter within the top 10. The early laps saw battles for the lead and a battle for P4, as two simultaneous trains would develop. Midzy15 looked content to save his ERS in the slipstream of the McLaren, and Raceroller would soon lead the second train after making a move on Ghost Colt Crispy2001 would pit on lap 10 from the lead to cancel out the opportunity to be undercut, however, once the McLaren conceded position, Midzy15 and PaRa flicked the car up in pace for their outlaps, and on return to the track, Crispy would do likewise as he managed to get in and out without conflict, and what looked to be a very tense couple laps in this race, the status quo would be restored, but by the slimmest of margins, with crispy resuming the lead The pitlane battles elsewhere would see Ghost Colt undercut Raceroller22, but would soon get the place back on Lap 14 with a move into the turn 8/9 chicane. Yellow flags would come out for a spin for yologamer who crashed into the wall at Turn 12 later on the same lap, however, was able to be quickly cleaned up and back under green. Jam and ZyDRAD would get off the old hards and onto mediums, giving the drivers ahead. Jito would be the first driver to experience the mediums against his hards, with jam and ZyDRAD breathing down the neck of the Haas, the Aston Martin would get through, but the Alpine would hit trouble, as contact between Jito and ZyDRAD at the 8/9 chicane would see the latter lose around 5s of track time, and have to claw his way back into the battles ahead Jam would make work on the Alpine of Riggs for P6 on lap 21 and join the battle for P4 on track, whilst the front 3 haven't changed formation at all in the meantime, showing consistent speed and skill to follow and manage their races, as the gap would sit around 18s om lap 23, almost a stop clear of the P4 battle, all the components that would kick up a storm for the final laps 24 looked to be the number to attack for Midzy15, who looked to make a move in turn 11 and into 12,briefly taking the lead, but not managing to keep it, as crispy put up a resilient defence to the William's offensive. The race was 27 laps long, and for the whole 27 laps,Crispy was able to withstand the pressure of both Midzy15 and PaRa quick for the whole race, as the top 3 demonstrated a race of true style and raw speed from each and every one of them, as they would secure the podium places with a healthy 20s gap at the end. Crispy would secure his second victory of the season after a string of bad luck, Midzy would continue racking up podiums with second place, and para quicks showing once again that he is a force in this interesting title battle as he rounded off the podium

Mckeon division stewards report:

ZyDRAD vs jito DV

Decision: 5s+2LP to jito DV

Reason: zydrad is alongside on jito’s inside and jito turns in on him and spins him. He makes an attempt to leave him space but doesn’t leave enough, causing the spin. Hence we award him with a penalty

SLR AlfieDK vs r1ggs8

Outcome: 10s and 3LP for R1ggs8

Reason: Riggs has red proximity arrows for several seconds through the first chicane of alfie on his inside, but turns into him taking the normal racing line. This causes Alfie to spin, affecting several other drivers behind too. We feel riggs had plenty of time to open out his steering and give Alfie room, hence the penalty is awarded.

Qualifying kicked off The weekend with an old name returning, SLR Padre is back and back with a bang! He took pole in France with a 1.29.517 closely join by SLR Bennett rounding out the front row with SLR Connor and Darren close behind on the second row The lights went out and Bennett immediately made the jump on padre and connection issues quickly saw his race over, SLR Semm also retired in the pits on the first lap. Lap 5 and bennett had pulled a 2 second lead, SLR Allen had jumped 4 places to second with SLR Connor in third close behind as there was a train of 8 cars! Lap 11 the safety car came out and that had caught leader bennett out who had pit the lap prior and was jumped by several drivers and down to fifth with overtaking to do! Our new leader was dannyd with Vandoorne in p2. Shortly after that on lap 17 the safety car came out again with the front 4 heading for some fresh tyres and bennett regained the lead but with old hards! He would have track position but the guys behind him would have much more grip. The safety car came in and SLR Allen made quick work of Vandoorne jumping up to 4th looking extremely quick and it didn’t take him long to overtake LP Smoke either then shortly after ARL PredatorZz spun which meant Allen was in p2 chasing the leader bennett. Lap 23 and finally Allen was past bennett and would clear off 3 other drivers also passed bennett but he was one of the only drivers not to have a penalty which means he just had to keep clean to gain back those positions. The checkered flag waved and SLR Allen took his maiden win in division one! Bennett jumped up to p2 after penalties with Vandoorne rounding out the podium, Owenhowell36 also took his third p4 in 4 races! Congrats to the guys on the podium and join us next week for more action in Austria!

SLR ranga Vs camo432 - Collision under SC (lap 19)

Outcome: 5 second penalty removed for Ranga

ELiTE x RisKz Vs BadOtterTV - Collision (lap 17)

Outcome: Racing incident

Reason: Otter has a run on Elite and tries to go round the outside. Elite ever so slightly moves across Otter to the left and that's what causes the contact between the two drivers. This was not Otter's fault

ELiTE x RisKz Vs ARL PReDaToRZz #23 - Collision (lap 1)

Outcome: 10 seconds + 2LP for Predz

Reason: Predz has a big slide coming out of turn 1 and makes big contact with Elite putting Elite into a wall and giving him big damage. It was an unfortunate incident with no bad intentions but elite was up against it very early on because of this

OwenHowell36 Vs DPT Alfie - Excessive use of AI (lap 13)

Outcome: 15 seconds + 3LP for Alfie

Reason: Under safety car conditions you are not allowed to be in AI mode for a long period of time as you must be in complete control of you're car. Alfie was in AI mode for the entire safety car period and the clip provided to us clearly shows this. As this is an extreme break of AI rules, a slightly bigger than usual penalty has been given

OwenHowell36 Vs DPT Alfie - Cutting pit lane entry (lap 17)

Outcome: 15 seconds + 3LP for Alfie

Reason: A safety car comes out and Alfie makes a very late call to come into the pits. He did not follow the pit lane at all and in fact cut a massive chunk of the run off area to come into the pits which again is not allowed. Owen was understandably put off by this and hits the back of Camo coming into the pits. Again we have given a slightly bigger penalty than usual as this was an extreme case of pit lane cutting

OwenHowell36 - Readying up early

Outcome: Qualifying ban for next race

In Division 2 this week we had a full grid for the first time in a number of weeks which was great to see.

Qualifying was a fully dry affair with the sun shining over Paul Ricard.

In Q2 debutant c0wen and former div 3 rival SLR Lofty made through to Q3 on the soft tyres well the rest opted for mediums.

Another thrilling qualifying in the division with the top 4 separated by less than two tenths. MasseyF1 would take pole. Zachisbeast .111 of a second behind and J Lee Menz also as he set exactly the same time. Reserve driver Alpeh would take P4 on the grid.

To the race then…. Eventually. A fairly clean get away by all until turn two where 3 wide just wouldn’t go with AG ll Panther coming off worse in the mclaren but the bad news for the mclaren team would continue with ARL Tooman and SLR Leah having contact at the chicane and him coming off worse, however would be able to continue as no damage was picked up.

Early stages of the race and Zachisbeast was keeping MasseyF1 very honest out front with DRS now activated. As a gap between the top 5 and the rest of the field started to emerge, as c0wen and Scar B0rga were battling over P6.

With cars also close behind including another Debutant driver in Division 2 skullkiller1014 who came together with SLR Lofty making contact on lap 9.

With Zachisbeast and Masseyf1 swapping positions a couple of times sour front this meant J Lee Menz, SLR Barlow and SLR Leah could catch up and we would have a five way fight for the lead as the pit window was now open and miraculously the top 5 all pitted and came out in the same positions.

We didn’t have a safety car all race I’m pleased to say which is the first time since Monaco.

The race seemed to just pass us bye with the laps ticking by, ARL Tooman now in the lead yet to pit lost it on exit and then has to pit with damage. A few laps from the end running P3 SLR Barlow loss connection and meant he dropped a couple of places well in AI.

Meanwhile Panther would make a great move to take P6 which showed he had great pace until another spin a couple of laps from the end would cause him to drop down.

It would be Masseyf1 to take the chequered flag in a great display. Zachisbeast kept him honest all race would be P2 less than a second behind. J Lee Menz crossed the line P3 but would drop to P4 with a time penalty so SLR Leah would be on the 3rd step of the podium. SLR Barlow P5 after managing to get back in the session. Scar B0rga took P6. SLR Charlie P7. SLR Jack continuing to pick up points taking P8. SLR lofty P9 and AG ll Panther despite a couple of spins would get the final point.

Incident - Lofty ready up early

Outcome - 3LP and Qualifying ban for next race

Reason - Lofty readies up before agreed time.

Incident - Hicklin vs tooman

Outcome - 10 Seconds And 3LP to Tooman

Reason - Hicklin runs wide into the corner but tooman goes for a the move from half a second back which causes him to hit Hicklin and them both to spin.

Incident - Tooman vs Leah

Outcome - Racing Incident

Reason - Toomans very compromised line going into the corner causes him to hit Leah, he also straightens up to avoid cutting the corner which comprised him even more and we feel this is the main cause for the collision.

We welcome you back to Division 3 round 7 around France.

As we go into the weekend only 15 for the race that will be taking part in Qualifying. We skipped Q1 and get going in Q2. The qualifying results, LSW L3G3ND44 takes Pole, Vision P2, SLR Kiara P3, SLR SPR1TLEY P4, SLR Stevo P5, G4R3TH9360 P6, SLR Colden P7, x J GEDDES x P8, KOPKIDJACK2005 P9 and Cxmzn P10.

As we go towards the five red lights , LSW L3G3ND44 gets not a great start on the mediums and Vision and Kiara gets past him on the soft’s. G3R3TH sees an opportunity at LSW L3G3ND44 on the back straight, coming to the chicane G4R3TH and LSW L3G3ND44 touch and causes G4R3TH to spin of track and sends him to the back of the grid.

Lap4: Vision and Kiara tires are starting to fade off after battling each other for the opening laps. LSW L3G3ND44 is gaining 3 tenths a lap on them. LSW L3G3ND44 is closer to vision and Kiara but is too far back to challenge for a move. Lap 5: LSW L3G3ND44 gets past Vision at turn 11 and at the end of lap 5 Vision and Kiara pit off the soft compound tire.

Lap 11: LSW L3G3ND44 comes into the pits at the end of the lap followed by all medium runners. Kiara and Vision get the undercut and are on the mediums and LSW L3G3ND44 is on the hards. Lap 15 LSW L3G3ND44 is on a charge on the hard and firstly gets back past Vision after making there stop and is pushing to close the gap on Kiara.

Lap 16: Kiara, Vision, Scott85laney and Geddes have pitted and this puts LSW L3G3ND44 back into the lead of the french GP with a 12 second gap to Gregers.

As we are near the end of the race weekend for Division 3, Kiara on lap 25 is out of fuel and a lap later SLR SPR1TLEY is showing signs he’s out of fuel and picks up a 10 second penalty. As we come to Lap 27; LSW L3G3ND44 wins the french GP, Gregers in P2 and Vision on a two stop in P3. KOPKIDJACK2005 has the fastest lap which is a 1:32:459

G4R3TH9360 vs LSW L3G3ND44 - Lap 1

G4R3TH9360 goes down LSW L3G3ND44’s inside. LSW L3G3ND44 seems aware of G4R3TH9360, however he does not leave enough room to G4R3TH9360 resulting in a spin for G4R3TH9360. The stewards feel like LSW L3G3ND44 could’ve and should’ve left more room. Therefore LSW L3G3ND44 is awarded with a 5-second time penalty, and 1 License Point.

St2oh vs SLR Russell - Lap 2

St2oh overtakes Russell on lap 2. SLR Russell tries to come back on him in the breaking zone however he clips the right rear of St2oh, and they both crash. Since St2oh was fully on the left hand side of the track we feel that SLR Russell is to blame for this incident. He will be awarded a 10-second time penalty and 2 license points.
