This week saw F2 head to the Circuit of the Americas for its inaugural race in F2 due to it not being on the calendar for Season 1. Qualifying was very close with the top 3 of HamJam2002, SLR Darnell & ZyDRAD all within a tenth of eachother. HamJam2002 to one claiming his 3rd ever F2 pole and SLR Darnell missing out by 0.040 off his maiden F2 pole! The feature race saw ZyDRAD needing just 9 points to secure the title before we even begun the sprint race & he drove like a true champion. Taking Darnell off the line and immediately hunting down HamJam2002 and passing him in the S’s section of the track in sector 1 to take the lead. The championship leader was not holding back! ZyDRAD went on to control the feature race & take the 25 points and become F2 Season 2 World Champion!!! Ham & Darnell rounded off the podium with pretty quiet drives from both & Jam just missing out on the podium due to in game penalties, a rarity for the Season 1 champ! The sprint race as always was one to watch. Jam who missed out on the podium in the feature took a convincing victory in the sprint race, his first victory since Abu Dhabi last season & technically he never did win an F2 race as defending champion. UKBeastAssassin followed up with a brilliant 2nd place & Ham securing a double podium finish. Newly crowned champion ZyDRAD only last the matter of a few corners after funnily enough… being involved in an incident with former champ Jam! That’s it for this week.
