F2's endurance in Italy! Round 8

Welcome to Round 8 of Season 11 of Formula 2, and with the final quarter of the season upon us, the big one this week was who was going to make it into the top 4 of the Evo Class for the Showdown! The top 4 will then spar it out for the title, likely to be decided right at the end of the season. However it was a new format this Thursday, as for the first time ever we raced a full 100% race distance in an official round! 30 laps of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza was in store, and of course with this, plenty of drama was on the horizon! Here's how it went down!

Bluegoggy vs SLR Southerner

Lap 11 - Feature

Verdict: Racing incident

At the braking point for turn 1 Goggy hasn’t been able to complete the overtake, Southerner is still alongside enough to be warranted space. On corner entry Goggy doesn’t provide this which means Southerner has to run over the inside sausage curb. As a result of this the curb unsettles Southerners car and throws him into the side of Goggy’s car on corner exit, causing minor damage. We don’t feel either driver is at fault enough to be penalised.

SLR Jam40 10 second speeding pen removal request

Lap 18 - Feature

Verdict: 10 second speeding pen removed. (Race Director provided).

BMidzy has gone into the back of SLR Jam40 going into the pits causing him to get a speeding pen. Jam is within the correct speed before being hit over the white line for pit entry. Midzy has sustained damage so we as stewards feel there’s no need to penalise.

Next up is Qatar in 3rd April, so see you then as we head into the final 3 rounds of the season!
