Championship Celebrations in Miami

Round 16 of the SLR McKeon championship is in Miami, USA. A very new track for most drivers, not many races around this circuit but it certainly has its charms. A very fast and twisty sector 1, then going into a very technical and hard to master sector 2, it really is a challenge for many drivers. With track limits also a small issue at the circuit, it has the potential for some great racing. With TV8 Ogween77 taking the championship lead now, it will be interesting to see if he could seal it at the race, or if someone can delay it for one more race.

Qualifying was a simple one, with many drivers getting caught out by the quick nature of the track and making mistakes here and there but after the action, it was ELiTE x RisKz taking another pole position this season! He’s found his form finally but a top 5 in the driver's championship may be all that is on the cards due to how many points he has dropped over the season, but still a great lap from the Alpine Driver. Second place in Qualifying was SimbarocksONE. Being beaten by only 0.001 seconds must be a tough pill to swallow but regardless, a much better qualifying from the McLaren driver who has been finding quali pace a struggle to find, and sure this will help him to be able to get a good result in the race. Rounding off the top 3 in quali was SLR Ham19, A good result for the WIlliams driver, and this will give him a good opportunity to gain on those ahead in the drivers but will also help propel WIlliams higher up the standings in constructors as well and only 0.019 seconds off the pole time this race is going to be a close one.

Onto the race and it was a good race, an early safety car making drivers have to make up their minds whether or not to pit and with many drivers having different choices for the strategy it was a fascinating watch as all the drivers found their way to the chequered flag but in the end, it was TV8 Ogween77 who would take another win this season! After the poor start to the season, the Alfa Romeo driver has found his feet again and after this round and only two races to go is the new McKeon Division Champion! Never gave up after the tricky start of the season and really fought to regain the ground he has done it so well so well done to Ogween and grabbing back to back titles makes it even more impressive. Second place in the race was SimbarocksONE, an impressive podium from the McLaren driver who decided to stick to the end on the Medium tyre and made the end of the race with just inches away from a puncture but a great result for him and a big boost for the McLaren driver and team. Rounding off the top 3 was raceroller22, who finally finds some luck and gets another podium this season. He decided to pit with 10 laps to go onto a new set of mediums and it really paid off as he could push more which helped him be able to get this result.

A new champion was crowned after a tough race for all at a track that hasn’t been raced much in the SLR Calender as of late. But next week we're off to Abu Dhabi, the finale in F1 usually but for us not, but a tricky track with many straight and many corners that can upset the balance should the driver make any mistake going into them and is a great track to continue this championship. But now were are onto the final two races of the season. It’s felt like a long ole season but two races to go and then a new game cycle will be out it will be interesting to see in the future who will be able to adapt the quickest and what the McKeon races will look like next season. Until then though have a great week!

Division 2

We are in Miami for the latest round of SLR Division 2 and a chance for J Lee Menz to secure the championship so the pressure is all on him then as we head into qualifying and its Vapidcoot who sits on top of the timeboard with a 1:27.945 with 9 minutes left in the session. Everyone is now out on track for their final qualifying laps with Jamiex6_ who is on provisional pole with a 1:27.671 but it's J Lee Menz who takes pole position with a 1:27.152 beating Jamiex6_ who is P2 with a 1:27.334.

And we get ready and lights are out and off we go for the Miami GP and to nobody’s shock FRL Kirito goes from P4 to P1 before turn 1 with his full traction starts, such a snooze fest from the McLaren as always. And at the end of lap 1 3 people have pitted for new front wings after collisions in the mickey mouse chicane, Lap 8 and there's finally some action as TCP Coutinho 10 has crashed and brought out the safety car. Most of the top ten pits for fresh tyres but Jamiex6_ and Big Mike stay out.

Safety car comes in at the end of lap 11, and instantly comes back out again on lap 14 for some unknown reason and its mr traction himself who is in the lead with 13 laps left as we get back racing. Nothing much changes or happens as we get to the final lap and its FRL Kirito who takes the win, J Lee Menz in P2 and LSW L3G3ND44 on the final step on the podium. That means J Lee Menz has to wait until next week to secure the championship so join us then in Abu dhabi.

Incident involving LSW L3G3ND44 and FRL Kirito - Lap 24

5 second time penalty and 1 license point to FRL Kirito for causing a collision - the initial move was fine from Kirito, but then while the proximity arrows are red, he shuts the door and forces Legend into the wall and causes him to get damage.

Incident involving FRL Kirito - Lap 10

No further action - no incident was caused from this but it should be made clear that drivers are advised not to use AI unless absolutely necessary to avoid causing potential collisions.

HuskySaturn1943 vs SLRRaikkonen - Causing Terminal Damage- Lap 1

Outcome: 10 seconds + 3LP to SLRRaikkonen

The stewards believe that Raikkonen drove erratically, and due to his driving caused a DNF to HuskySaturn and believe we have no choice then to penalise heavily.

richie chappell vs F1 Warhead vs l Cxmzn l -  Causing a collision- Lap 10

Outcome: 3 seconds to F1 Warhead

The stewards believe that the battling ahead is fine, but Warhead behind doesn’t alter his line and ends up rear-ending the car ahead sending him into a spin, but because it doesn’t cause damage nor a DNF the penalty is only minor.
