SO close - and yet so far for SLR Bottas !
Sometimes this game can frustrate, sometimes it can make you want to throw your control pad (or wheel) out the window...but sometimes this game allows you to see something truly glorious!
This was the case for folk watching the Div 1 stream this past Sunday as they witnessed one of the most epic incidents in SLR. SLR Bottas will disagree of course but as he came round to finish a race that had turned from dry to wet in the later stages - he lost it at the final turn. His car came to a stop on the finishing line but never crossed it and thus car after car came round and gained a place on the line! Now had his car crossed the line whilst under a DNF I literally have no clue whether he would have 'completed' the race but lets just presume he would have and enjoy it.
Again, sorry mate - but I enjoyed this one...a lot.
Anyway, Presto returned to form and won yet again in Div 1 all but securing the title after a dominant performance even after a poor qualifying (for him) BOR Verstappen and BOR Hamilton also had strong races and joined him on the podium.
Into Div 2 and ConstantRyan181 blasted himself back into serious contention for the hotly contested Div 2 title! Yorrin had a great drive from 6th on the grid to take 2nd place and then the ever impressive TYR I 1A1N found himself on the podium again with the hard earned 3rd place. A special mention goes to my team mate B33n 3motional who had his highest finish of the season with a superb 4th place in the Force India (lapping me in the process as I trundled my way around on 114 degree tyres finishing 9th)
Into Div 3 and JH is truly back on form - taking both pole and 1st place after seeing off the challenge from Rellic. GeneralMarrow69 was a happ man after getting back on the podium with a well earned 3rd place.
This must have been one for he cleanest weeks in SLR history as there were very few clips for the stewards to review - so thanks for that, our Tuesday night steward meeting ended much than usual!
