Appeals Saudi Arabia

Appeal 1 Darnell/Corey/Dodgy Stewards Decision - 3s and 1lp (2lp to Darnell due to DNF) Panel Decision - NFA

The panel reviewed the evidence and disagreed with the stewards in terms of a racing gap. The panel believed the gap was there and the move was on, believing it was close racing between the three drivers. The panel discussed that it was the finest of margins, but due to the nature of the circuit, three wide is always a risky endeavour in Saudi Arabia. To conclude, the panel felt that there was no major contributor to this incident and in turn, have removed the penalty as a result

Appeal 2 (D3) Maxwell and Hicklin Stewards Decision - NFA Panel Decision - NFA

The panel reviewed the evidence provided and agreed with the stewards in this instance. When reviewing statements, the panel felt that Hicklin didn't launch his car up the inside as not only significant space was left on the inside by Maxwell, but Hicklin manages to slow the car down into the final corner well. However, noting that there was the slightest tap on Maxwell's rear left from Hicklin, the panel believed that this was not the primary factor for the spin, and upon review, believed it was more of an excessive burst of the throttle more than contact from behind that led to the spin. Within our review, the decision is in agreement with the stewards on this one
