Appeals Report: Silverstone

Couple appeals this week and some updated race results on the reports with it.

F2

Sprint race: SLR McKeon vs Babatunde (Squeezing 10 seconds 2LP)

Outcome: Changed to 5 seconds and 1LP.

As stated in his appeal, McKeon doesn’t receive the correct penalty for this incident. After reviewing his perspective he is in ai and does not deliberately instigate contact.

All drivers are however reminded to enter ai only when necessary and in an appropriate part of the track to ensure incidents do not occur.

F1

Elite: Gho3t C0LT vs LP Smoke (Squeezing 5 seconds 1LP)

Outcome: Removal of 5 second penalty and 1LP awarded to Gho3t C0LT.

As stated in of the both drivers statements as well as being supported in the views of the appeals panel, it was agreed by all that the 5 seconds and 1LP awarded to Gho3t C0LT were not warranted and therefore the penalty has been removed.

Div 2: Rockamad vs Dawziee (Divebomb 20 seconds 4LP)

Outcome: Changed to 10 seconds and 2LP for Rockamad.

The appeals panel unanimously agrees that there is in fact a move on and that even without the contact Rockamad would in fact still make the corner.

While it is recognised that the move resulted in damage due to a poorly executed attempt at an overtake, hence the penalty awarded, the appeals panel believes that Rockamad was entitled and given space to make a move and therefore a divebomb penalty would not be the right penalty to give in this situation.

Div 3: Nealix vs Dolphin (Racing incident)

Outcome: Original decision stands

Sprightly is an innocent bystander in this incident involving Nealix and Dolphin.

While there is a gap on the inside of Stowe Nealix does not go for the move until dolphin has committed to the corner, at the apex of the corner none of Nealix’s car is alongside Dolphins and therefore he is not expected to nor should he have to leave room. An unfortunate incident however one which the appeals panel believe Dolphin is not to blame for.
