Appeals Report: Saudi Arabia

Appeal 1 (F2)

Dodgy and Para

Stewards Decision - 5s and 1lp

Panel Decision - 10s and 2lp

The panel reviewed the incident and concluded that the new penalty of 10s and 2lp to Para would be applied. The panel believed that while Dodgy had the right to slot into the racing gap, Para should've conceded the position after a very wide entry to T27. Understanding that in this instance Para would have been looking for the switchback move, it still acts as the catalyst for this incident and the panel argued that the penalty applied by the stewards was not justified in relation to the lasting impact that the incident itself had on Dodgy. Dodgy suffered from extensive wing damage following the contact with Para, spinning into the wall. The panel have upgraded this penalty to recognise the impact of this incident and to justify the severity of it
