Abu Dhabi

McKeon Division

Due to lack of numbers the McKeon race was postponed for 2 weeks time. See you next week in Brazil!

Division 2

So here we are then the penultimate race of the season. J Lee Menz was crowned as the back to back champion of division 2 during the week after a stewarding penalty made it unattainable for anyone to catch him.

To everyone's surprise it was a wet qualifying session in the desert! Which did provide us with a slightly mixed up grid for the race. VapidCoot74 was able to stick his Haas on pole position just ahead of FRL Kirito who was only 0.041 tenths behind. Scar B0rga claimed 3rd place but a massive 3 tenths back from the top two.

Thankfully the race was back to the dry conditions you usually expect at Abu Dhabi. The front two got away well but in typical division 2 fashion there was utter carnage in the midfield with cars going off all over the place. ZachisBeast25 was able to captilise on this by gaining 11 places before turn 5. Active JMC crashed out in questionable circumstances on lap 2 in an incident which resulted in a full safety car. Amongst all the carnage Kirito was able to take the lead of the race from VapidCoot.

On the restart Kirito was able to pull a commanding lead over VapidCoot. It seemed nobody used the safety car period as a chance to calm down. For the following laps there were bumps and spins galore throughout the pack. You wouldn't have been mistaken in thinking this was a Nascar race.

Lap 9 saw the end for ZachisBeast who managed to get beached on a curb and disqualified from the race. It turns out his teammate OwenHowell36 was the man that pushed him onto the curb in the first place. Things got worse for the Alfa Romeo team as the very next lap Owen lost it through turns 3&4 and crashed out. This resulted in the second safety car of the race.

LSW L3G3ND44, TCP Coutinho 10 and Adrian VIII who all started on the hard tyres remained out and became our top 3 during the safety car period. Which dropped out front runners of Kirito and VapidCoot slightly down the field. But it didn’t take them long to dispatch Adrian on their way back through the field. Then when closing in on both Coutinho and Legend, both drivers spun out. Thus giving Kirito and VapidCoot the battle for P1 yet again.

Kirito and Vapid kept their battle for not just the race win going but for second place in the drivers championship. Lap 22 there was a late safety car which bunched the field back up. The safety car returned to the pits on lap 26 leaving a 4 lap sprint to the end.

As expected Kirito and Vapid were able to pull away from the pack yet again and make it a two way fight for the victory. It was indeed FRL Kirito that took the win with VapidCoot coming home in second place. Adrian VIII claimed the final podium spot after a smart call to go onto the mediums instead of the softs at the final safety car paid off.

Next week the action heads to Interlagos for the Brazilian Grand Prix and of course the season finale for Season 10.

Incident involving VapidCoot74 & FRL Kirito - Lap 14, Turn 9

Outcome: 3 seconds +1LP to FRL Kirito for moving under braking - we believe that Kirito makes a late move in the braking zone of Turn 9 in response to VapidCoot's manoeuvre to the inside of the corner. The penalty given on this occasion is one of leniency given no contact was made between the cars, however this is not an acceptable action and thus it has still been penalised.

Incident involving Active JMC - Lap 2, Turn 7

Outcome: Race Ban to Active JMC for crashing out on purpose.

SLRRaikkonen vs Mellow. Causing a collision- Lap 3

The stewards feel that Mellow behind just misses their braking point and spins around SLR Raikkonen.

Outcome: NFA

The stewards feel that this is lap 1 incident with many cars together close and two making slight contact and leaving James with no where to go.
