Abu Dhabi

McKeon

The race of the season served us up a treat in Mckeon

Firstly qualifying, where as the division 1 title fight finally ended last week a few division 1 drivers raced in Mckeon. The most notable one of these was simba, who qualified p2 on his Mckeon debut! I hope he has Sundays free next season! Ogween claimed pole, his fourth in a row in a very impressive streak.

Onto the race where ogween got away very well. However behind him several drivers had moments and spins including champion midzy. This and some strong race pace allowed raceroller to work his way up into the top 3 and into the battle for the win. As the race went on the field spaced out and looked like the race would end up being a bit of a dull affair, however para crashed bringing out a safety car on lap 10. This meant that all the medium runners were forced to make a difficult choice, and they all elected to go with softs. What this did do was massively help simba’s race as he boxed for meds to go to the end of the race.

Onto the restart where ogween and roller were running very well. Behind them bennett had worked his way up to a strong position, with simba keeping in there in the top 5 not having to make another stop

A few laps later there was a VSC And ogween picked up a drive through! This set him back massively. Raferiller then pitted from the lead, coming out behind several medium runners. The mclaren had great pace and worked his way through the field, although there was one person he couldn’t pass. That person was simbarocksone, a driver who has never won a division 1 race in SLR. He then entered one race in the division above and won it! A fantastic story and an exceptional drive to end off the season. Also running well was monkeyy, who picked up another podium in p3, and bennett and merkz. The 2 Ipswich boys picked up top 6 finishes to end off the season, bennett doing so by taking his soft tyres all the way from the safety car.

And so that rounds off this shorter season in the Mckeon division. With the new game out now attentions focus to that. With 4 different title winners in the last 4 seasons and nobody retaining their title since season 2, will that trend continue next season? Next season promises to be a good one.

Division 1

Elite riskz is your new Division 1 champion! This actually happened last week at Jeddah but Arbon news isn't always reliable so we forgot to report it last week. Sorry lads.

Nobody can deny Elite being a deserving champion. Despite not firing on all cylinders before France. Elite took off like a rocket in the second half of the season with some very impressive drives. Brazil and USA, yes Arbon is still mad , being the pick of the Bunch. Some would say that Elite job was made easier by his nearest rival SLR Cech deciding not to race for the 4 or 5 races however you can't say Elite wouldn't of won the title anyway even if Cech was present.

Anyway now I've told you about what I should of done last week. Let's talk about the job I'm suppost to be doing which is the Abu Dubai race report.

The top 3 in qualifying was Elite, Levi king and Simba who was coming off the back of mckeon divison victory where separated by less then a tenth in qauli and they all stayed put on lap 1 keeping position Infact the majority of field stayed as they where apart from the two Red bulls. You can probably already guess who lost and gained positions and yes you was correct. Arbon who tried to get into q3 on mediums again failed but this time he opted for the hard tyre and that lost him 4 positions on the opening lap down to p15 meanwhile his team mate UKbeastassasian made up 3 places on the opening lap and up to p14 after crashing in q1. Both these drivers would need to get up the order if they wanted to snatch the constructors title off Alpine as they would need a 14 point swing.

On lap 4 we saw a change for the lead as Levi with the aid of Drs managed to get past Elite going into the final sector and that move would mean Levi would have the lead for our first saftey car of the race as J Lee menz with another 0 point score this season binning it just before the penultimate corner. This would mean all the soft runners apart from Ham would be able to pit aswell as Arbon on hards for the medium tyres to take to the end of the race. A big shock was Elite Riskz also came into the pits for another set of medium tyres commiting to the two stop

When we got underway again Elite Riskz was In the wars as him and Zachisbeast when toe to toe into the 2nd chicane and Elite shot Zach off the track after wheel to wheel contact was made. A gutter for Zach who was having a solid race. Out in front Levi took control of the race getting out of the drs of Simba who was struggling for pace at this stage. Meanwhile on lap 8 Jensen and Elite on their fresh mediums where sliding through the field quite nicely up into p5 and p6 respectively. Although a lap later Elite was involved with a collison again After contact with Slr Jam giving him emplate damage and putting him last and out of the contention for any good result but since he has the championship wrapped I'm sure he won't mind too much.

Jensen was left to continue his charge with the most fresh tyres out of field and would move up into p3 by lap 11 with SLR liam a division 2 driver making the step up not too far behind in p5 with those two being in the best position to take the win at this stage in the race with them not having to stop again whilst Levi, Simba, Beast, Jam and Barlow all needing to pit inside the top ten.

Also on lap 11 we had our 2nd retirement as Slr Vandoorne calling it a day in the pits after having multiple spins and he will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing season in the Aston Martin.

Out in front the leaders started to bunch up again as Simba managed to claw back drs from Levi but also had Jesen for company and on lap 13 the battle really heated up. Simba made his move on Levi for the lead into the 2nd Chicane and leads the race for the very first time Jensen also tried to follow through but unfortunately for him was unsuccessful in his endeavours and hit Simba and spun round dropping him to p6 and then on lap 14 down to p7 after getting overtaken by Slr Qauttro who was working in tandem with Arbon to get through the field who was on the same strategy as the Jensen and Liam who was now promoted into p3 and having a stellar race in the Mclaren.

At the end of lap 16 was when the pit window opened for people who still needed to pit for soft tyres. UKbeastassasian decided he would be first to dive into the pits for fresh soft tyres. On the same lap Arbon and Jensen made contact at drs straight chicane causing Arbon to have the lightest wing damage ever where he could barley even notice the damage this would cost him in the pits to Qauttro later in the race. But for now Simba reacted to Beasts undercut the next lap but it was too late as Beast done the undercut to perfection despite being in a train of 4 cars that weren't in his race.

Back at the front on lap 18 another big moment as Slr Liam who was in a great position to win the race hit the back of Levi into the final sector and giving himself wing damage a gutter for him as he was in a fantastic position to take the race win after stepping up a division for this race. The following lap Slr Qauttro another driver with a chance of the win spun in the first sector S section losing him a position to Arbon and a chunck of time.

Lap 20 would also be the next Turning point In the race as Slr Bennett a mckeon divison reserve crashed in the same place as Qauttro however this time the Alfa Romeo was forced to retire and that brought out the second saftey car of the evening.

This would allow Levi, Shut Medal, Arbon and Qauttro to pit for fresh softs and give themselves a much better chance of a good result instead of defending on old medium tyres. Beast and Simba chose to stick with the tyres they had and take p1 and p2 back for the restart. Someone else who decided to stay out was Macca883 a new Division 1 driver who was having a quiet race in the midfield and decided he wanted to cause chaos and a get piece of the action by staying out on mediums.

This would indicate that he would be swarmed on the restart and that would prove to be right when we got ready to go again on lap 23 for a sprint to the line. Mecca inevitably got rinsed on the restart losing 5 positions in two laps including getting mugged by arbon round the outside into the hotel section (not baised I promise) and probably will be questioning his strategy call.

So then the battle for lead between Simba and Levi with Beast out in front however with a penalty to his name. This would soon change as on lap 25 Levi got past Beast on his younger soft tyres and that would be a crucial move for him as he would be able to pull a gap and despite Simba getting past beast on lap 26 it wouldn't stop Levi taking the win in the final Race in division 1 and Summit league racing as whole for f1 2021 and in doing so secures the constructors championship for Alpine alongside Slr Ham who had a poor race tonight down in p7.

Simba takes home p2 in this race and p2 in the standings and after an impressive debut season and will be looking to kick on. A kick in the teeth for UKbeastassasian and Red Bull as Beast drops to p5 after penalties and Red bull misses out on the constructors in p2 after leading for the majority of the season (let's not blame arbon for an awful mid season x ). Shut medal takes the final spot on the podium after again not having an eventful race but just spawns near the front of field every race fair play to him and a decent season for Medal this year. Arbon from p11 on the grid gets p4 and sweet end to a rather sour 2nd half of the season. And incident ridden race for ETSR Jensen takes home p6 on track and will be looking to make his mark in a rather different manner In season 9. Macca holds onto p8 despite the wrong strategy call and again one to keep an eye on next season. Division 2 duo of Liam and Vapidcoot complete the top ten.

Despite finishing p12 tonight Elite x Riskz wins the drivers championship major congratulations to him and will look forward to see him racing in the mckeon divison next season. Alpine also rap up the constructors after a consistent year from Ham and Levi.

That's all from division 1 and Summit league racing on f1 2021 hope you enjoyed watching or racing in this division as much as I have and see you guys round the corner for season 9.

Division 2

For the season finale we headed to the bright blights of Abu Dhabi for what turned out to be a cracking title fight between 3 drivers.

Heading into the race I VR46 I held a 13 point lead over his teammate VapidCoot74. Further back and clinging onto championship aspirations by a thread was OwenHowell36. Owen went into the final race 26 points behind VR so needed a minor miracle if he was to take the crown. So in theory this was in fact a two horse race between the Alfa Romeo teammates with Owen lurking in the shadows just incase things get crazy.

Qualifying proved challenging for VR46 as he is only able to put his Alfa Romeo in P6 whereas VapidCoot74 took P2 and OwenHowell P3. But the star of qualifying was our debut man from down under Haydo1804 who somehow managed to be awake at 5am Australian time to be here! He set a very impressive 1:34.713 to take pole and was a good few tenths clear of the chasing pack.

So as the 5 red lights went out for the final time this season we got underway and it was a good clean start for our front 3. Haydo managed to hold onto the lead from VapidCoot. The rest of the field manages to make it clean through sector 1 and 2.

As lap 4 begins it’s all the same for the front 3 however VR46 has now worked his way through the field into P4. He may be 4 seconds back but in the grander scheme of things VR46 is doing enough to take the title.

Safety Car! SLR Morgan’s season end on lap 4 after a huge crash. Morgan lost control of his car on the approach to turn 17, hits the inside wall and then is fired across the track. All of those drivers that started on the soft tyres utilise this as the perfect opportunity to pit for something a little fresher. Haydo and VapidCoot started the race on mediums so stayed out to keep P1&2.

End of lap 7, start of 8 the safety car returns to the pits. But disaster strikes for VapidCoot. As the field is getting ready to restart he disconnects from the game and his AI decides that this would be the perfect opportunity to pit on only 7 lap old mediums. A unfortunate moment that drops VapidCoot all the way to the back.

On the restart itself VR46 and Adrian VIII are side by side through turn 2 and 3 but come together. Contact which caused Adrian to spin and put VR under investigation by the stewards. Could this play its part in the championship fight?!

Lap 9 and there is yet another safety car! This time, in a season I am sure he will want to forget quickly, SLR Allen ends up in the support pit lane wall. He just takes too much curb on the exit of turn 9 and this just kicks the car off track. Of course this safety car came as a gift to VapidCoot after the bad luck he had a couple laps ago.

There are only 3 pitters this time. Our race leader Haydo who moved onto a hard set of tyres and PrimusGaming who started on the hards deciding he has had enough of them. VapidCoot also uses this as a opportunity to move off the soft tyres the AI put him onto and back to the mediums.

This promotes Kemence61 into first place and LSW L3G3ND44 into second place. The only 2 drivers in the field yet to pit off their starting drivers. OwenHowell is holding 3rd place and VR46 is in 4th. On lap 12 we get back underway again and the restart is a lot cleaner this time.

OwenHowell makes a move on L3G3ND into P2 down the pit straight after getting a better launch out of the final corner. A move which definitely utilised his fresher tyres. Down the back straight things get worse for L3G3ND as VR46 goes flying past too.

Lap 14 and OwenHowell breezes past Kemence to take the lead of this Grand Prix. Owen is doing all he can to win the championship but unfortunately it’s not enough at this stage with VR sitting in the podium places too.

Lap 16 proves to be a difficult lap for our championship leader. In no time at all he drops from P3 to P5 after a couple of good overtakes from L3G3ND and SouthRaptor966. L3G3ND wasting no time at all also gets Kemence to take P2. Out in front OwenHowell has created himself a 5 second gap to the chasing pack.

Lap 17 and this time it’s Kemence who has a disastrous 30 seconds as he drops from P3 down into P6 after being overtake by SouthRaptor, VR46 and CSCMorris all in no time at all. The drivers from 2nd all the way down to 12th are separated by less than a second to each other. At the end of the lap L3G3ND pits from P2.

Things calm down for a tyre management phase plus second round of pit stops for the majority. By lap 23 all that were taking their second stop have stopped and put on some fresh Softs for a sprint to the finish. 3 drivers have decided to stay out on worn mediums and try to make the 1 stop work. Those being Adrian VIII, SLR Liamm and ARL PReDaToRZz. All whom find themselves at the front but can they fend off those charging through with fresher tyres.

OwenHowell36 cuts through the drivers on old tyres quickly as he tries his best to challenge for the championship. But with 4 laps left and VR46 still in the points, 8th place, it’s looking unlikely. Also with 4 laps to go VapidCoot74 is only one place ahead of VR46 in 7th.

At the end of Lap 25 there is contact between OwenHowell and Adrian! Owen attempts an overtake around the outside of the penultimate corner and there is contact which causes Adrian to spin. In the process Adrian unfortunately collects L3G3ND causing both of them to tumble down the order. So this moves everyone up a couple places and SouthRaptor966 into 2nd place! Liamm moves into 3rd but it really is a question if those 20 lap old mediums can last.

Lap 26 gives us the answer. VapidCoot74 performs a double overtake on both Liamm and PReDaToRZz down the second DRS straight and puts himself into P3. Now with 2 and a half laps remaining Coot now has a chance at the championship. As if he finishes 2nd and VR finishes 7th or lower Coot would claim the crown and well as things stand VR is in 7th place!

Final lap! It all comes down to this. VR performs a huge overtake on Liamm down the pit straight and moves into P6 and with VapidCoot still in P3 the title looks to be his.

VR picks up a 3 second time penalty! On the final lap VR picks up the penalty which could cost him the title as the gaps behind is not very big.

OwenHowell36 crosses the line to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix! SouthRaptor966 crosses the line in 2nd place to score big points in AlphaTauri’s constructor championship battle with McLaren. VapidCoot74 comes home in 3rd place and did all he could to challenge his teammate.

But that leaves the big question, is VR clear of 9th place by enough to win the championship? He is! VR crosses the line and claims 7th place after the in game penalty. So VR46 is the Season 8 Division 2 champion!!! This is dependent on the steward report as a incident has been submitted against VR. Penalty dependant and VR could lose the title to VapidCoot74.

Well that was a fantastic race to finish off the season and thank you to everyone involved for your hard work this season.

Incident 1:

Predz Vs CSCMorris - 10s and 2LP to CSCMorris for spinning another car. Morris doesn’t leave racing room into turn 4, causing Predz to spin.

Incident 2:

Adrian Vs VR - 10s and 2LP to VR for spinning another car.

VR turns into Adrian at turn 3, causing him to spin. There was not enough room left by VR considering he was fighting side by side with Adrian.

Incident 3:

Owen Vs Adrian - Racing Incident

Owen has the racing line and is significantly ahead going into the penultimate corner. This is not a corner you can really go side by side into and so we agree that Adrian would’ve been best backing out.

ARL PReDaToRZz timing glitch - Predz finishes 1.169s behind EIIis 37 with no penalties, and so this will be where he is classified, with a gap of 16.581s to Owen in P1.

Legendarydannyd timing glitch - Danny finishes 0.901s ahead of Kemence61 with a 3 second penalty - therefore he is classified with a gap of 29.370s to Owen in P1

Division 3

The title showdown in Division 3 this week as we head to Abu Dhabi 4 points separated Jack and Charlie so all eyes were on them ahead of this one but it was Active Jmc who took pole on the night and missed the memo. But fair play! Charlie joined him on the front row with Jack in p3 for the start.

To the race then. And everyone got away cleanly and there wasn’t any moves for positions so it was as you were out front. Halo crashed out late on in the lap and a vsc was required.

A moment on lap 4 as Charlie made the move for the lead on active jmc and Jack followed him that saw active spin leaving Charlie and Jack to battle it out for race lead and the division title.

A few laps went by and the lead changed hands what felt like every lap. Jack then broke the drs to Charlie. At this stage Jack had one hand on the championship with 20 laps to go.

On lap 12 Charlie pulled the trigger and committed to a 2 stop. Jack responded and pitted a lap later. But Charlie got ahead so a good decision by him. And now he had a hand on the championship.

MVT hurww crashed out on lap 14 and a safety car came out this allowed haze, EVVO and Leah to pit and Charlie and Jack then pitted again having only just pit. But the mediums would for sure make the end the guys in front on softs would struggle. So we were set up for an exciting second part of the race.

Jack disconnected as the race got going again. He got back in the session but he had lost 2 seconds to Charlie which could be crucial.

SLR xhaka then crashed out with 8 laps remaining and another safety car was required. A decision had to be made again for the drivers. Haze pitted from the lead. Charlie and Jack pit again also. So on the restart Charlie was 6th, Jack 7th which would be enough for Jack to clinch the title. 6 laps to go!!

Huge drama on the first lap of the restart, as Charlie got passed haze and then active jmc just waved Charlie by. Then Jack couldn’t get the car slowed down and ran in to the back of haze and wing damage was the result, he tried to continue but just losing to much time and had to pit and that was his title challenge over as Charlie just needed to finish now.

Meanwhile haze was making moves and got passed Leah and then chased down EVVO for the race lead and win on the last lap of the race! So she won it and it was her 3 win in 4. SLR EVVO held on for P2 despite a time penalty. Leah just held off Charlie on the line to claim the podium which I’m sure Charlie won’t care about as he crossed the line P4 and with Jack down in 8th Charlie was the division champion.

Congratulations to Charlie on the title and a huge hand to Jack for being right there and very humble in defeat I’m sure his time will come again.
