McKeon
A final sprint to the end.
Round 15 of the SLR McKeon championship is at COTA, USA. A track that has it’s charms, a very fast S section to start off the lap but ending it with a bunch of tricky late apex corners really makes this track a hard one for all the drivers and usually never gives any driver a break to collect thoughts. With the season getting close to the end who will continue to show their form or will someone else find a way to the top?
For Qualifying it was a typical dry session, not much weather this season affecting the drivers but after the session was over it would be BRT RyanM who would take his first pole position of the season! A very quick driver who races from time to time and with the margin he has at the pole being 0.180, it definitely shows he has good pace around this track and maybe he could be one to look out for in the race. Second place was TV8 Ogween, who will be happy being above all of his title rivals and this definitely will set him up well to be able to gain as many points as those around him. Rounding off the top 3, was ELiTE x RisKz who continues his form from Japan and gets himself an impressive start and one I’m sure he would like to continue as he could sure gain some big points, and with there are 4 races left including this one maybe he could mount a late charge to the top.
For the sprint, it was 10 laps of action with all the drivers looking to gain positions here to get a better position for the main race where all the points are scored but with this being the last sprint of the season I’m sure all the drivers will want to push and gain as many points as they can get. But after the action, it was TV8 Ogween77 who would take the final win in a sprint this season! An impressive drive from the Alfa Romeo driver who was able to get past the pole man of BRT RyanM and from that point on looked pretty comfortable coming home to win by 1.889 seconds and gaining crucial points towards his championship. Second place was BRT RyanM, after getting overtaken early by Ogween I’m sure he is a little disappointed but I’m sure it's a result he will welcome and definitely shows he has a good pace, so let's see if he could challenge for the main race. Rounding off the top 3 was SLR Ham19 who gains one position and gets himself an impressive podium finish. One I'm sure he’s happy with and with him getting these points I'm sure he rates his chances and being able to take this into the main race and replicate the result. Other notable drivers would be SLR Medal2533, who from P9 on the grid, made the moves he needed and gained from a penalty from ELiTE x RisKz, to take home P5, an impressive result for the McLaren driver, who will hope to take this into the race and maybe see if he can gain any more positions.
The race was 28 laps full of intrigue and really was a battle for all of the drivers but the strategy was thrown out of the window with a Safety Car on Lap 12 making strategy easy for almost everybody. But at the end of all the action, it would be ELiTE x RisKz who would take home back to back wins! When it rains it pours and that’s certainly true for Elite, no wins in McKeon before last week and now he has 2. An impressive drive from the Alpine driver who really has found the form at the right time, capitalising from the top 2 having an incident with Ogween crashing out and Ryan DNF’ing in the pitlane. But even with that, he drove an impressive race and one I’m sure he will be proud of. Second was SLR Ham19 who gains a spot, keeping close to ELite all race but just wasn’t able to find a way by, still a great result for the Williams driver, but after a few poor results, a finish I’m sure he will be happy about. Rounding off the top 3 would be SLR Jam40 who also gains a spot and again this will definitely help his late charge toward the top of the standings and with Ogween retiring, this really does blow the driver's championship wide open. Other notable drives would be raceroller22 and SparksYT15. Both gained big spots from P9 to P4 and from P12 to P6 respectively, gaining big points to their tally and being in the right spot to capitialise but also showing great pace.
A race that had a moment of controversy with title leader Ogween having a collision with Ryan causing him to lose big points to the lead of the championship. It will be a tough battle now for Ogween to make sure the gap at the top doesn’t close too much. Next time out in the McKeon division it will be off to Miami, USA. A track with the walls close and many corners which could catch out anyone of the drivers, but definitely one of the best quali laps for entertainment. Until then though I hope everyone has a great week!

@SimbarocksONE - Safety Car Procedure Infringement
Outcome: NFA
In our view, SimbarocksONE doesn’t do anything wrong here and MeRkz just gets a poor entry out of the corner.
Division 2
Round 15 took us to Texas for a trip to the circuit of the americas and the first of our American double header. This was our final sprint weekend of the season.
FRL Kirito was able to snatch pole position away from J Lee Menz by the slenderness of margins. But of course that was only pole for the sprint race. To still have P1 for the main event Kirito had to get through the sprint race.
In the sprint Kirito was able to get off the line better and built himself a one second gap to VapidCoot74 in second by the time we reached the long back straight. Menz tumbled down the order at the start to fourth. The safety car was brought out on lap 4 due to legendarydannyds retirement.
As the safety car started heading back to the pits at the end of lap 6 the heavens opened. Some drivers pitted straight away and some tried to stay out on dry tyres. Within the time it took those pitting to pit and get out the track was covered in water.
Those who stayed out were really struggling and there were spins from both OwenHowell and J Lee Menz. The drivers who didn’t pit were then saved by a safety car I can only assume due to bits of the Alfa and Ferrari being on the track somewhere as nobody crashed out.
The last couple of laps were more a battle for survival than a race. Kirito was able to bring it home in first place and secure first place for the main race. VapidCoot finished in second with ZachisBeast25 in third.
There was not a cloud in sight for the main race itself which I am sure was a relief for all involved. In what seemed a carbon copy of the sprint Kirito was able to get off the line the best and was comfortably ahead on the climb to turn one. VapidCoot was able to hold onto second. It was not long till we lost our first driver. There seemed to be issues in the midfield with three drivers facing the wrong way. Unfortunately for Big Mike1859 he ended up nose first in the wall and out of the race before it even got going. This resulted in a VSC.
ZachisBeast race came to an abrupt end on lap 6 as he crashed out, a incident which resulted in our first safety car. The majority of the field used this as the perfect opportunity to jump onto the hard tyres. The safety car returned to the pits at the end of lap 8. Yet again Kirito was able to pull a commanding lead over the rest of the field in the coming laps.
While things seemed like plain sailing for Kirito out front there seemed to be a proper scarp going on between Menz and dRaSt1k bLazE further down the field. The levels of which you would normally expect to see in a squared circle or octagon. It culminated with Menz facing backwards on lap 13 and dropping to the back. I wonder if anything happened post race as a result of these two going twelve rounds…
The second half of the race just turned into a tyre saving activity and mimicked the Baku GP we all unfortunately had to watch on Sunday. Kirito brought it home in first place a impressive 10 seconds ahead of LSW L3G3ND44 in second place but due to a penalty dropped to third. It was VapidCoot who jumped him into second place.
The championship leader managed to work his way back up to 8th place.

Incident involving Kislesko and SLR Marsh - Lap 22:
No further action - from the evidence we’ve received we cannot be completely sure that the contact wasn’t caused by desync and therefore have made the decision to apportion the blame to lag and desync.
All incidents involving drast1k blaze and J Lee Menz:
No further action - there’s practically nothing to penalise here, while there is some questionable racing and divebombs, going for gaps that aren’t there etc but no actual incidents were caused.
The only incidents of real note here are the incident on the back straight where Menz attempts to go for a gap on the left that never exists and nearly caused an incident with Blaze hitting the back of him. And the incident at Turn 17 which is just an unfortunate incident caused by Blaze slightly losing the car and therefore it won’t be penalised.
Drivers are reminded to fully assess clips before sending them in!
Incident involving SLR Moley:
5 seconds removed from SLR Moley’s race time. In future, drivers should send in the race director as it makes the whole process a lot easier. We do however have enough evidence to prove that Moley received the penalty unfairly and didn’t serve it.
Incident involving Big Mike and THATGUY - Lap 1:
15 second time penalty and 3 License Points to THATGUY for causing terminal damage - there’s no excuse here in what is a totally avoidable incident, THATGUY runs into the back of Big Mike causing him to spin into the wall and receive terminal damage.
THATGUY has reached 13 LP which means a one race ban to be served at the next race.

@moonwalker048 vs @Lenbau04 Causing a collision- Race, Lap 4
Outcome: 5 seconds and 2LP to Lenbau04
Stewards feel that Lenbau04 isn’t aware of Mellow on his inside and without looking moves over and spins the Mercedes driver.
@SLRRaikkonen vs @SLR Baggie spinning another driver- Race, Lap 9
Outcome: NFA
We feel that even though Raikkonen gets severe damage from the incident, but Baggie does not move erratically and barely as well and Raikkonen just drives into the back of him and causes the collision.
@SLR James96 Vs @moonwalker048 Mellow Divebomb- Race, Lap 28
Outcome: 1 LP to Mellow
We feel that it’s definitely an attempt of an overtake he shouldn’t have done but feel he got the 3 seconds for corner cutting anyway so feel a lenient penalty is viable.
